"funnier than" is certainly an opinion...I do know that.

Ratings matter, they help to keep a show on the air..... smile.gif

Actually, according to discussion in the show he had his ass kicked constantly as a kid.
Raj is very annoying. And not funny most of the time.

A trend that should carry over to adulthood.

Interesting view. For which personality trait should this be true?

Aspergers
High IQ
Scared of dogs
Loner

I weep for humanity.

Finally got around to watching last weeks Bakersfield "Trek". First off, the ending with the thieves was disappointing. Now that I have that out of the way, this show is simply hilarious to me. Yeah, they've had a few stinker episodes here and there but I'm not writing, producing or acting in any of them so hey. The guys in uniform out in the desert is certainly one to remember. But the girls arguing over comic realism's was hysterical! Even before that, walking into the comic store was priceless. I would definitely call this one of the top episodes but for me the all time top episode was when Amy Farah Fowler was sick.

Just to put my unsolicited two cents in, Raj's storyline is simply getting old. The lonely, alcohol co-dependent thing is way overused. And it doesn't help that he whines a lot because of it all. I'm not sure where the writers can go with him but they need to go somewhere. Wolowitz's "fat mom" deal is a little played too. Anyway, looking forward to the continuation of the season!

Agree about Raj.  Despite being a core, original character, he has been written into a whiny, weak and unlikable dweeb who I would rather see cut than any of the female crew that has since been added.  The show, on the whole, remains a top comedy fav.

Maybe they could add a love interest for Raj. I wouldn't mind another lady on the show.

Conceptually, I thought the Vasquez Rocks scenes were funny, but I was so focused on how bad the green screen composites were, that I couldn't enjoy the scene as much as I should have. Also, there's a ranger station right at the entrance to the park about a 5 minute walk from where they were supposed to be standing...no need to go hitch hiking.

But agree that the girls were hysterical...'Well, if you are going to compare hammers and wands..." Classic. Reminds me of many a Star Trek argument back in my youth.

They should replace Raj with Stewart perm. Stewart's character is really funny and blends in well with the group.

Stewart is essentially "Butters" from South Park. He'll never be part of the group, but always will want to be.

Stewart should hook up with Raj,

Raj should hook up with the hottest girl imaginable. She'll be intrigued by a guy who won't speak to her. After she pushes her way into his life, possible moving in and everyone else getting jealous, he gets over his problem and starts speaking to her. Then she's no longer intrigued and moves out the next day, but he can talk to girls now. Soon after, he starts dating every hottie that comes along.

If he could pull that "indifference" bit off, he probably already got over his speech impediment.

Sheldon's awkwardness with coitus is so funny! Buy I can't help but notice how many serious moments they've given him lately. Just a couple examples: today's episode about how far he's come with physical contact. And the episode they were in Star Trek costumes at the diner. It's interesting to see, even through the comedy, the development of his character.

It's getting pretty weak.

They are certainly giving his character a little more depth. One thing that bothers me is that he has never even shown any sexual desire but maybe that is changing with Amy. His interaction with Kripke was priceless and I also loved Penny's reaction when Sheldon said he may eventually pursue a physical relationship with Amy smile.gif

The B-story was just OK. It's hard to believe that someone like Howard with a masters degree in Engineering from MIT would make so little. I would expect he would make over 6-figures easy in California.

Don't bet on it. I work in Academia and the pay is crap. He would fair much better in private industry.

Maybe he needs to work fulltime at NASA or something to make a decent buck or some other aerospace company..

I was also amazed that Kripke had better research than Sheldon...

Too funny. The Kripke parts were awesome. Sheldon is just fantastic in this show.

It's February and we haven't seen the promised romance for Raj yet. That aspect of the show is getting kinda annoying. As much I still think they are going to introduce a girl for him that has his same affliction (because it just seems so obvious due to how the writers the show), I now am thinking it will be something that continues into next season.

Little slow to start but it then really picked up in the second half and was pretty funny. Not a fan of Raj but that whole cell phone call had me rolling.

On another note, Bernadette in bed, wow! Her breasts were so big it actually looked fake like something was laying on top of her. She has really grown on me as being very attractive.

For once, Raj's part was the funniest part of last night's episode.

Well, will they will teasing us more with Howard's mom? they actually shown a "body" there, will they finally reveal her appearance?

(I'm not counting the microsecond she was in on Howard's wedding)..

Agreed on Bernie's looks.. she's amazingly hot!

Wow- that was actually really creepy! A large hulking mass quickly transitioning across a doorway shot from the shoulders down?
They used to do things like that back in the early 60's on Outer Limits where the creature was considered 'too scary' looking so you'd only get a fleeting glance of it crossing a doorway, or you'd see it's shadow against a wall, etc. 50's horror movies used the same technique.

Very disappointed in BBT regarding this and some of the other issues like Raj still not being able to talk to females unless properly lubricated- it's just not funny any more and it gets in the way of plot and character development. The same can be said for keeping Mrs. W off camera- they've lost a lot of good opportunities to have her interacting with Howard and the guys.
Wasn't Raj talking to Howard's mom a lot? he wasn't drunk on the morning, so he can talk to women thru walls right?

I'm going to have to disagree here. I don't feel like I need to see (or hear) any more of Mrs. W. Keeping her off camera is almost the same gag as never seeing Wilson's face on Home Improvement. It worked well there, and it works on TBBT.
