'Big Bang Theory' in HDTV on CBS - Page 4

I thought last night was another great episode. I like the fact they let Sheldon be so self-absorbed that he doesn’t even know he is a pain in the neck. Without Leonard (or his mom, etc.) running interference for him he comes across like the twelve-year-old college student he was.

I agree each show appears to be several skits but as long as the characters grow I don’t see it as a bad thing. I thought bringing Leonard’s work mate back was brilliant and they handled it with just the right touch. Not too goofy or serious and with enough twists to heighten the existing plot lines nicely.

BBT is now my must watch show, next to 30 Rocks.

Just wait until DWTS is over. It should pull in over 10 million viewers.

Here is something interesting I stumbled over in USA Today. Apparently, The Big Bang Theory is a little bigger hit than we thought. When they include the DVR viewing and internet viewing the show is apparently a hit. Here are the numbers from USA Today :

Thought last night's episode was the weakest of the bunch so far. Hope that this doesn't signal a dive in the future, because I have enjoyed this show so far.

I think I was able to squeak out one chuckle last night during this episode.

Really, really surprised by your comments. The buzz around the forums and bloggers is last night's episode was one of the strongest ones. I, personally, laughed a lot.

Another really strong ratings week for The Big Bang Theory. It went up from last week. It beat How I Met Your Mother again, and killed Chuck by almost 2 million viewers. From Mediaweek :

I watched about 10 minutes of this last night because my regular show in that timeslot, Prison Break, wasn't on, and I wasn't impressed at all. It was interesting to see Kaley Cuoco on it, as she did appear in a couple of Prison Break episodes last season.

I missed this last night because my DVR ate the episode (sound was fine, but picture did not come in at all... black screen. Not sure if it was CBS or the DVR?)

Anyway, so I tried to catch the episode on CBS' website, but Innertube sucks. I watched the exact same Chase Freedom Card commercial about 837 times, but not able to actually start the video, before finally giving up. I'll take the advice of the commercial, "I'm free to do what I want", and what I want is going to acquire this episode via 'other means'. CBS, i was more than willing to watch your ads so that i could see your watered-down pixelated on-line offerings, but I'll settle for an HD copy from somewhere else.

For me last night was the best yet! The characters appear to be getting a little more comfortable with each other and every thing feels more natural.

I really enjoyed the bit about Penny inviting them to the party. Along with Leonard’s line... Yeah I'm a fricking genius during their make-out session.

Ratings really do not matter as its been picked up for the season albiet writers strike. Its a safe show as it is low cost to produce and if can get 8 mil viewers it will be fine. Dancing With The Stars trounces it with over three times the audience and when AI comes back it will probaly draw the same but BBT is safe. Now CHUCK is a much more expensive show to produce and it could be in trouble.

I really enjoyed this week's episode. Some really funny one liners. Good stuff. Keep it coming.

After getting a chance to see the episode, I liked it as well. It really sets up all of the characters (well, some of the characters) to be more dynamic rather than static in the future.

"Big Bang Theory": Our hypothesis is true!

It's official. The hypothesis offered by all the Season Pass contributors who gave two thumbs up to "The Big Bang Theory" has been upheld by America. Show's a hit.

It's not a "Friends" or "Everybody Loves Raymond"-size hit, at least not out of the box. But it has held up solidly in its six airings to date (last night averaging 8.9 million viewers and 3.6 rating/9 share in adults 18-49) and is ranking No. 2 in its time slot behind ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." "Big Bang" builds on its "How I Met Your Mother" lead-in -- probably not as much as CBS would like to see, but for a new show, anytime the numbers are going up rather than down, it's a victory.

Most of all, "Big Bang" is funny, with an ensemble (Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar) that is getting better by the episode. Gee, maybe there's hope for the multi-camera comedy format after all. Kudos to series co-creators and showrunners Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and all the other hard-worker staffers on the Warner Bros. TV skein. Here's hoping that the course of human events and WGA-AMPTP negotiations don't conspire to shut them down any time soon.

Halloween ep was great.

Johnny Galecki is funnier than I thought he was.

I've been watching Kaley Cuoco since here...so i'm obviously sticking with her now.

The first half of tonight's (11/4) episode was LOL funny. I was getting annoyed at Sheldon's obsessiveness with his routine...too much of that!

I like how the Penny character is not a Dumb Blonde ala Kelly Bundy. She can hold her own against the Brainiacs. She realizes she's not as smart as them, but she doesn't put up with their nonsense, either.

Do you realize that 3 out of the 4 nerds have scored so far?

I completely agree about Penny. I can't believe a lot of the critics try to portray her as this dumb blonde. Some of them even tried to compare her to Chrissy Snow on Three's Company. She is not dumb at all. Any normal person listening to the science from these geniuses would be overwhelmed at times, but she is not dumb. She takes no crap from them, and hands it right back to them.

She also looked so hot in that red dress at the end.

I love this show.

So, Sheldon and Leonard are roommates so they can afford the rent yet Penny works at the Chesecake Factory as a waittress and can afford to live single in the same building?
Did I miss some explanation in an earlier episode?

Really enjoyed the 11/5 ep. As Sheldon might put it, my "laughs-out-loud per unit of time" ratio is gratifyingly high.

I also agree that the HD picture quality is fantastic.

Yeah, aren't these guys supposed to be working scientists, not just the stereotypical "poor grad students," right?

Penny's cute, though; she must earn great tips.

Apparently theoretical physics does not pay very well

THis show is hilarious. This and How I met your Mother are must see tv for me and my wife. Loved the Halo storyline last night.

The writers clearly spend plenty of time playing Halo 3, pretty authentic (with the exception of the "he's charging his plasma rifle" reference).

Last nights episode was great, Sheldon is always a hoot, and last night, his obsession was totally funny, this is such a great show:-) Hopefully it can withstand the WGA strike.......

"Where's your annoying friend who thinks he speaks Mandarin?" LOL

Surely that was the same actor as the "five, ten minutes..." host from the classic Seinfeld episode "The Chinese Restaurant."
