Is anyone familiar with a way to control a Sony 777ES changer with Vista Media Center such that I could ultimately view a DVD in the changer in different room using a media center extender? I have not seen anything and seems like what's required is some kind of card to go into the Vista box that would accept a component input and a coax or optical audio connection, have a codec to encode the video stream, and rely on Vista to stream it.
I know a simpler solution might be to backup all my DVDs to my hard drive, but the amount of time and disk space to do this is very significant. Currently I control the changer with an Escient Fireball SE-D1 which works great for a single room, but no option for multiple without either getting something like the Avatrix box or a much more costly Escient box.
