What takes the best HD video? HR10, Hitachi DZ , or Sanyo VPC?

All of them say they're 1920 x 1080 full HD. I primarily want to use it to record myself playing tennis at night.

Pretty sure the Canon only does 1440x1080.

Sanyo and Hitachi's have not yet showed up anywhere, so any comments would be pure speculation. Canon's is due to be released in a week or two but has been reviewed at a number of sites. Still VERY few people have hands on experience with it...

Don't know when the hitachi's due out, but there should be significantly more info on the Sanyo and Canon in the next few weeks.

Also, search for the Toshiba Press Release. They just announced full 1920x1080 HD camcorder (HDD based too). Seems to support 18MBPS or so bitrate, based on capacity and reported recording time...

Announced for Japan for mid-november. Don't know whether/when it will be released in the US..
