Sirius Stiletto 100 - Poor FM transmitter?

Hello,

I just purchased a new Stiletto 100 to replace my 1st gen S50. I find that the FM transmitter is much weaker. I used to be able to play the S50 up in a bedroom and get an FM signal two levels below in the theater. With the Stiletto 100, it barely works 15 feet away.

Has anyone had the same problem or know how to enhance it? I need to be able to hear Howard in the shower tomorrow morning!

Thanks for your help!

The FCC cracked down on wireless FM modulators due to complaints by people who had their religious programming overrun by Death Metal, Gangster Rap, or Howard Cursing. Both companies took a different approach to the new rules, neither of which even remotely resembles ideal:

Sirius: drastically cut the transmitter power so the signal doesn't carry very far and is easily stamped out by a REAL FM station.
XM: eliminated the wireless modulator altogether, and added SureConnect, a wired FM mod that physically attaches to your antenna.

I give XM's solution a 3/10 and Sirius' a 2/10.

I have the same issue. How can we get better reception. My SL100 barely works with the packaged headphones. : (

Edit: I primarily use mine on my motorcycle (wrapping the headphones under the windscreen). Is there some sort of plug-in booster or something?

I bought the CCrane FM transmitter for whole-house listening.

Unfortunately, no. If you are using the included antenna headphones, and they have a clear view of the sky, there isn't much more you can do. But I would think you would get pretty good reception if you put the headphones pointed up (the black band that says "Sirius" towards the sky). You may have dropouts when going under trees/bridges.
