Meijer - Disney Blu-Ray, buy 1 get 1 free

I'm a big fan of Meijer (got a brand new 360 there for $200 and a brand new PS3 for $350 with stackable coupons).

Anyways, new deal to post... they are offering Disney Blu-Rays buy 1, get 1 free, and if you use your Meijer credit card on Monday you get an additional 15% off.

Did you see it in the store (which one?), or some weekly ad (which one?)

This was in our weekly flier in Bloomington, IL. Not sure if it translates to online sales or not.

Here's the ad:

I'm so close to getting this to work online I added two Disney BDs to my cart, the status at the top of the page shows "2 Items - $30.49".

But I can't get to my shopping cart to check out

Damn, I will have to stop in at my local Meijer... Thanks...

Are you sure about Surf's Up? That's a Sony release, not Disney.

The ad implies that Surf's Up is part of the deal, but I'd bet that you are right. I copied the list from slickdeals, I should have read a little closer

Anybody wanna go get me Pearl Harbor and The Prestige?

D@mmit, no Meijer here! Between Meijer and Fry's thats a lot of deals I miss out on.

Just opened an account, selected 'The Prestige' and 'Apocalypto', but every time I click on shoppingcart. it just spins its wheels for awhile and then reports:

Sorry! We're Working on This Page.

We're sorry. An error has occurred when attempting to process your request. Please go back and try your request again, or return at a later time.

Got the same error when I tried to calculate the shipping charge.

If I click on checkout, then it hangs for a little and then gives me a page containing only the header and footer info -- no body. It's looking like a pretty hopeless website !

The Prestige, huh? I've been needing to buy that. I just have no idea if the Meijer stores around here even carry Blu Ray.

Well, I've no store anywhere near me (Delaware), so their official Meier.com "store" option is my ONLY option !

Thing is, if their shopping cart and checkout process really don't work, when did this start? How does anybody ever buy anything online from them?

Or is this problem just being triggered by my cart contents? Could this be their defense against attacks via "Slick Deals" and such?

Last time I checked the Meijer website I don't even think you could shop online. So I am thinking this is a fairly new addition. It could just be buggy, but I'm not real sure.

Just got back, they had about 15-20 titles in the sale. Looked like it was Disney and all subsidiaries (Touchstone was definitely included).

After the 15% off, it was 2 movies for $25.50! Also picked up Zelda: Twilight Princess for Gamecube for $13, great day shopping.

That's the same thing that happened to me earlier.

I just tried it now, and the checkout/cart system is working, but it's not giving me the discount. Prestige & Apocalypto = $65.93.

Yes, I just tried again myself! Full access is now present, but indications are they're requiring the print out coupon taken to a store in order to get the discount. We online types are NOT welcome! I suspect that was the reason the cart and checkout weren't accessible -- they were taking steps to halt further ordering (wonder how many people successfully got through?)

No big surpise I guess, their goal is to get people walking in and making spur of the moment purchases, not sitting online and feeding off the deals !

Thank god because of previous/future deals they've had, or do they have a similar Disney sale going on that I don't know about?

It says while supplies last for 9000 discs chain wide. It is in the weekly ad for mine in Mansfield, OH. Might have to swing by after work, Pearl Harbor and Dinosaur for $30+tax would be a great price compared to $45 on Amazon. I've never even thought to check there for Bluray until seeing this thread, I hope they do have them @ my store.

Thanks for the heads-up, got POTCMC and POTC:COTB for $29.99+tax. Beats $48 from Amazon

I went yesterday and didn't see much in the way of Disney movies I wanted so I passed on it. But...I went back today and they had restocked the Bluray section. So I picked up The Wild and looked around still nothing else Disney that I didn't already have. Decided to take a chance and grabbed up some Miramax and Touchstone since they are linked with Disney and sure enough the deal worked. Here is the list I got:
Pearl Harbor --29.95
The Wild --Free
Apocalypto --29.95
Brothers Grimm --Free
Primeval --29.95
Reign of Fire --Free
I guess the overall idea is that it actually applies to all BUENA VISTA (BVHE) titles regardless of film company since they all have the BVHE logo on the shrink wrap. I tried Silver Surfer (FOX) NO DICE..worth a shot. So it appears that we have BVHE to thank for almost all of the great deals on BD including the 5 free with player purchase. So you can pick up a bunch of great titles...Guardian, Prestige, Flight Plan, POTC 1+2, Gone in 60 Seconds, Annapolis and many more. ENJOY GUYS.
