Oppo 980...still the choice for plasmas?

I am finally getting my HD this week (Panny 50' PZ77U), I know at one point the 980 was recommended over the 981 due to the macroblocking issue..just wondering if this still held true...

Yes. Or to be more precise: there is no risk of enhanced macroblocking with the 980 and there is with the 981 (on DLP and plasma). Some people get the 981 to work with those displays, but if you don't want to worry about it, the 980 is the better choice.
