Any possibilty of a seperate 6010/5010 thread for us peasants who can only spend $5K for a display? Since the Elites have more modes (like Pure) than the non-elites, some of these settings, pics, tweaks, etc are not pertinent to the non-elite contingent and kind of makes us look inferior, like scum. If the Elites are far superior, as some of you are saying, why not have a seperate Elite/non-elite thread?

EDIT: lipcrkr is the same guy whose Pioneer 5070 lost 20% of it's value within days of his purchase and he's been railng about it ever since, correct? if not, disregard this post.

John, is it going to make that much of a difference after ISF calibration "and where in the menue does it show for the ISF calibration", as the picture is fantastic already, have you seen one before and after calibration, thanks.

I don't think anyone will tell you that you should feel inferior but sometimes it does seem that way. Both series are amazing.

When was the last time you heard any plasma owner confirm that they have burn in?

Burn in doesn't exist anymore.....plain and simple....regardless of brand.

IR is a different story and is virtually non-existent on the Kuros, goes away in seconds on the Pansonics, and minutes to hours on other brands.

as you can see by my previous posts, I have encouraged any Pioneer Kuro owner to post pictures of his/her new PDP, for some reason my pictures have stymied a few people in doing so

D-nice is right, I own a 5 year old Philips 42" Alis panel which was moved to my bedroom, picture is still the same as when I bought it, burn in, what is that, yes I have experienced IR in the past but it went away pretty quickly.

Funny thing is i would be a low risk candidate for burn in since i would never watch 4:3 with bars (even an LCD), i don't play video games, decided (even if i bought the 5271 LCD) to keep my 19" computer monitor so i can do both at the same time, watch mostly HD programs, and i don't use a DVD player (i have all the movie channels). In fact, the only thing i would have connected is my A/V receiver since this takes a cable card (this set does pass 5:1 right?).

Here are a few pics I took of my new 110FD tonight. A couple from Sunrise Earth, one commercial from MHD for Disney Blu-Ray, one shot from the Heroes HD-DVD, and one shot from the Coldplay concert on MHD. The source for the TV stuff is D* HR20. Be easy on me - I'm (obviously) not a pro photographer, but they turned out better than I thought they would in a completely dark room.

I thought I would Post a photo of my PRO-150FD setup.
Currently the 150 is sitting on top of a Synergy triple 20 cabinet, but it will be moved to a wallmount soon.

Nice pics, although there seems to be a little black crush in the bird pic and the Coldplay pic, is it the camera?

Thanks. I don't recall the TV picture being too dark, but honestly it's hard to say. My camera is just a little Fuji F10. It takes great pics in the dark, but I only used 400 speed to avoid grain, so it may have not been entirely accurate.

I am using D-Nice's settings as a start, but with Color Space 1 instead and a few other tweaks to the manual color settings. I am waiting until after the break in period to try to calibrate with Digital Video Essentials, so I may not have the contrast/brightness settings just right for this panel. Still, it looks awfully good to my eyes in person!

loco, if you're using D-Nice's settings, you must turn down the color level control to a setting of around 0 or so if you're using Color Space 1. Your shots show the color saturation is too high. Some of Sunrise Earth's shows do have colors that are a bit 'overdone', but Heroes shouldn't have that high a saturation.

I can't say for sure whether it will make a big difference that's why I asked to see pictures after you had calibrated yours . Your pictures are already amazing. When I was at CEDIA, the Elite Kuros I saw may have been ISF calibrated but I'm not sure. Your pictures seem to look as good as what I saw there. Whatever the result it will be fun to see the comparison.

Okay folks I am sending back my 5080 I picked up last week because of cybertic. The 5080 is a fine piece of machinery but I was feeling a little left out. So I am jumping on the band wagon.

great pics, keep them comming, but before you do, use D-Nice's STB settings for your 110FD, it does wonders, it makes the colors and skin tones more natural, the way they should look, it will take a bit to get used to, especially after viewing a different PDP for a long time, with false skin tones a colors. By the way, what camera and lens did you use, and I believe you used a tripod.

don't use flash, it washes out the picture, plus you can see the flash beam, go to the begining of my thread, I have posted a little review how to take pics of a PDP for someone else who wanted to know.
