What's the purpose of your side speakers on your TV?

Funny a friend asked me that last night. Sometime I just don't feel like firing up the AVR especially late night etc.

Yea, I can see that. Aren't the Pioneer speakers on the TV really good?!?! I think they are the best TV speakers I've ever heard.

Thank you.
I guess it's not worth much if you don't get to enjoy it but I'm really getting to enjoy it!

Nice set-up: aesthetically pleasing as well as functional.

Some new pics of my Set Up, Pioneer KRP-500A with a Canton Karat 5.1 Set, a Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD and my old but solid Denon AVR-A10SE.

M5ster, the way that center channel fits into your cabinet, is impressive to say the least.

Just got a 5020 last Wednesday. I'm using D-Nice settings with a few personal tweaks to taste. Some detail is lost in the shadows and highlights compared to what I see. The moire was caused by the camera being slightly tilted. Gotta say, I love this display!

MvA trailer:

Kung Fu Panda was one of the first things I watched on my 5020 too. Looked superb.

Yup, near perfect! I think they should bundle "300" with these things too. It's very stylized, with black crush and grain, but it's a visual feast on this TV. I hope to take some pics of it sometime soon.

Very beautiful indeed! Where did you get those blue lights?

I used two Ikea dioder lighting strip sets, with multicolor.
Colors are, blue, green, purple, yellow, red, cyan (turquoise), white

This is an alternative solution, also ikea dioder, but not in strips.

When you say you used two sets, you mean you used all 4 strips that comes in the package, or just two strips? And how did you mount them? One on each side of the panel?

Very nice indeed. Can you please show how they are set up? Are they mounted to the wall? The *gasp!* TV?

I used a similiar product that I bought at Costco. Came with six LED strips that each have red, green, and blue LEDs. They cycle through different combinations of the three primary colors and you can 'lock' it at any color you like or let it cycle. That particular product attaches with two-sided tape, and I just attached the strips to the back of the TV. I only ended up using four of the six strips, one down each side and two across the top.
