people can pick apart whatever they want who cares wrong or right.

post some more please, no matter the perfect $$$ camera, flashes on the screen, tripod or not, angles, lighting etc etc etc phooey.

the majority on here will enjoy them as much as your enjoying the Kuro itself.

Anyone have a link to some definitions of some of these terms and common fixes. ie. Red Push, Black crush.....
I'm guessing that the red push means that the scene is a little too red but the settings on the TV havent change between
all the red in the Flash pics and the animatrix pics.

What do I think? No idea about the PQ, but the BQ (Butt Quality) on that pic is out of this world.

Here are some more shots of the Transformers HD-DVD on my calibrated Pioneer PDP-5010FD. All shots were taken with a point-and-shoot camera so the images aren't the best they could look, but still should give an idea of how great this movie looks.

Yea...calibrated 5010FD. I need to get some Planet Earth to see what this thing can really do. That and take a photo class...I don't think the Kodak point-and-shoot is the best way to capture these shots.

O.K., is there a documented way to access the Service Menu of the x010FD?

The reason I am asking is, I still see a bit too much red - look at:

the highlights on Hulk's hair;
some of the highlights on Hulk's green body, on his chest particularly, the right side of his face and toward the shoulders; and
the hue of the sky, most noticeable at the bottom, close to the horizon.

It may be the camera, but it seems consistent across all posted shots. Otherwise it looks great.

And don't jump on me, I just ordered the 6010FD..., it's a sincere question.

I can't argue with the observations because I can see them as well, but I would note that when I had my set ISF-calibrated (by a trusted calibrator on the forums) I ended up with a flat D65 grayscale and accurate color decoding. For one, Transformers doesn't have the most accurate skin tones natively in the content since there was an "artistic" decision to go with the more orangish-tones. Two, I actually think the scene I captured that specific Hulk shot from was during a sunset backdrop if that matters. I feel like the Jack Black shot demonstrates that the display is pretty accurately portraying appropriate skin tones when it is fed the right material.

There is potentially an issue that the non-Elites over-saturate the red color primary, but there isn't anything you can do to adjust that. My set's changes were performed in both the service menu and the user menu to achieve the pictures above (and the R-high value was definitely lowered from its original value). For the Pure line of Kuros you are set to the colorspace inherent to the set so if you want to achieve 100% (if that's possible) accuracy in the primaries/secondaries, etc etc I would recommend either the Elite or a Samsung DLP RPTV (preferably from about a year ago, new ones aren't as good I've heard).

Wow, Manchild, thanks so much for the awesome pics! That's just about what Transformers looked like on my TV! I'm sure there are minor differences, but it answered some questions for me.

Manchild, I think a sunset would explain much of it. I am nitpicking, really, which may not really be fair on stills, since what you notice staring at still you may not notice when watching the movie.

The Jack Black shots are great, indeed. At first I thought there was red push in the white shirt, but the white out-of-focus object in front is free of red coloration, so it passes with flying colors (which, believe me, makes me happy:-)
