Correct. The "chicken legs" are a part of the stand.

Thanks. Hm, it's begining to look like I might actually join the Kuro crowd, since the 6010 appears to be the best balance of price, size, resolution and quality for me.

Who knows, in a month or two I might be jumping from behind a corner on unsuspecting Panny sympathizers and beat them with the Kuro club

I'm being told there is distortion in the bottom corner of my panel which I know does not exist. I'm using D-Nice's settings and people are telling me that hey, if I like an oversaturated picture, more power to me (when the camera mode is designed to show just that). But anyway, I'll delete the pics, and hopefully other people will post more pics that were done with more planning. Later.

jeffrey,

don't you dare take your pics down. it doesn't matter if they are taken with a damn disposable or the best pioneer paid for advertising campaign photographer.

people can pick apart whatever they want who cares wrong or right.

post some more please, no matter the perfect $$$ camera, flashes on the screen, tripod or not, angles, lighting etc etc etc phooey.

the majority on here will enjoy them as much as your enjoying the Kuro itself.

Agreed

Here are some pics from my new 950. Sorry about the shoddy camera work and the lack of hi-def material. I'm more concerned about color at the moment.

Here is a shot from my favorite movie JAWS, the blacks are pretty solid.

Here is a shot my Batman Begins, black detail is nice

A shot from SW: EP3

another SW EP3

Flash Aaa-aaah he'll save everyone of us!
Here are a few more. Now that I have really looked at the pics, There are 2 pixels on the jaws pic and the batman pics that look out place on the lower right hand side. I need to go check that out.

Flash Aaa-Aaah he is a miracle

Ming

A couple shots from the animatrix

well let me know what you think. I followed D-nice's settings for the Xbox 360.
You might want to shrink them a bit.

Duh, just ordered a 6010FD. An open mind is a dangerous thing....

P.S. The pics above take a lot of bandwidth..., maybe leave just the last one ...despite the strong red push....

Good god man, that pic scared the CRAP outta me at 1:30am (I'm a bit tired). You gotta make the pics smaller.
Think of the children!!! Between the low def and the huge size, Batman never looked so meanacing!
Resizing on the way,
I also have NBA2k8 for 360, I will get a pic of that when i get home.

Anyone have a link to some definitions of some of these terms and common fixes. ie. Red Push, Black crush.....
I'm guessing that the red push means that the scene is a little too red but the settings on the TV havent change between
all the red in the Flash pics and the animatrix pics.

Poor low-def Batman ;p . Looks like I will have to go get either the 360 hd player or the Tosh A2.
yes!!!!!!!!!! nba 2k8 is the game i specifically want too see. Please pose as mamy as possible thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ill be playing 2k real soon on my 150-fd!!!

What do I think? No idea about the PQ, but the BQ (Butt Quality) on that pic is out of this world.

Here are some more shots of the Transformers HD-DVD on my calibrated Pioneer PDP-5010FD. All shots were taken with a point-and-shoot camera so the images aren't the best they could look, but still should give an idea of how great this movie looks.

...and here is King Kong...

I think I messed the last one up a little, but whatever...
...and lastly Hulk...

great pics manchild, is that the 5010fd.
Yea...calibrated 5010FD. I need to get some Planet Earth to see what this thing can really do. That and take a photo class...I don't think the Kodak point-and-shoot is the best way to capture these shots.

Looks good to me

As in ISF or D-Nice settings.

ISF calibrated

The reason I am asking is, I still see a bit too much red - look at:

the highlights on Hulk's hair;
some of the highlights on Hulk's green body, on his chest particularly, the right side of his face and toward the shoulders; and
the hue of the sky, most noticeable at the bottom, close to the horizon.

It may be the camera, but it seems consistent across all posted shots. Otherwise it looks great.

And don't jump on me, I just ordered the 6010FD..., it's a sincere question.
I can't argue with the observations because I can see them as well, but I would note that when I had my set ISF-calibrated (by a trusted calibrator on the forums) I ended up with a flat D65 grayscale and accurate color decoding. For one, Transformers doesn't have the most accurate skin tones natively in the content since there was an "artistic" decision to go with the more orangish-tones. Two, I actually think the scene I captured that specific Hulk shot from was during a sunset backdrop if that matters. I feel like the Jack Black shot demonstrates that the display is pretty accurately portraying appropriate skin tones when it is fed the right material.

There is potentially an issue that the non-Elites over-saturate the red color primary, but there isn't anything you can do to adjust that. My set's changes were performed in both the service menu and the user menu to achieve the pictures above (and the R-high value was definitely lowered from its original value). For the Pure line of Kuros you are set to the colorspace inherent to the set so if you want to achieve 100% (if that's possible) accuracy in the primaries/secondaries, etc etc I would recommend either the Elite or a Samsung DLP RPTV (preferably from about a year ago, new ones aren't as good I've heard).

Oh and my camera is a total POS

Great pictures. Well done. On non-Kuro Panels, he would be known as Jack Gray!

Game On!

Here are some shots from NBA 2k8 on my D-nice'd 950

Detroit Basketball!

Above the rim

The Man in the Mask

The win is Guransheed!

King James ( I wasnt a fan to begin with, but that kid plays with a lot of heart and he is respectful and intelligent in interviews. Now only if my Pistons can find an answer)

King Jame's hand, chewed finger nails and all. I just threw this one in because of the hand detail. Got to love Hi-def.

Awesome shots Grandmof ! Is that D-niced 950 fully broken in ?

To other posters using Plane Earth shots, what series are you guys using.
The 5 disc set narrated by Siguorney Weaver or another ?
Wow, Manchild, thanks so much for the awesome pics! That's just about what Transformers looked like on my TV! I'm sure there are minor differences, but it answered some questions for me.

The pics are beautiful!

Manchild, I think a sunset would explain much of it. I am nitpicking, really, which may not really be fair on stills, since what you notice staring at still you may not notice when watching the movie.

The Jack Black shots are great, indeed. At first I thought there was red push in the white shirt, but the white out-of-focus object in front is free of red coloration, so it passes with flying colors (which, believe me, makes me happy:-)
