There should be an hdmi black level setting (or similar) on the tv. Then there is the RGB setting on the player. These settings have to match correctly for the picture to look right.

* Low is for RGB (computer) grayscale range of 0-255

on the PS3 say, Normal would be full and low would be limited.

So for my set I have it set to HDMI = low and RGB Limited. If I switch to HDMI normal with limited everything gets washed out.

Thanks. My friend watches his 500m in 'user' mode. After watching a couple of movies on his set, I'm starting to dislike my 6020. I wish there would be a gamma & color temp adjustment setting on the NE kuros. His 'user' mode in gamma 3 and color temp low looks awesome. But I can't replicate that image on my 6020 at any settings .

Have you had your 6020 calibrated? Color temperature and gamma on Movie mode are about as accurate as they get. Where the 6020 lags behind is color accuracy, you shouldnt have any problems with color temp and gamma if calibrated. I believe Gamma is only slightly lower than reference.

^^well sheedoe, i havent had mine calibrated but i seems as if it WILL be. all panels have differences so reference settings are just as they said, "reference". it's only a reference so panels may differ.so to get the best out of your panel you need to have it calibrated to YOUR specific specifications for the panel. i would suggest you do it.
