htwaits had the best advice -- wait for a low hour used one that you know is working. NIB doesn't mean no problems. Visit owners threads....plenty of Kuro problems to scare one off from a one off.

PS - I am your wife. You don't recognize my special brand of preachiness? smile.gif

I was afraid you would say that. I figured squaretrade wouldn't cover it, but was hoping there was some kind of protection plan I could get. There's definitely too much risk involved with this. Oh well, here's hoping the new VT60 or ZT60 can come close in pic quality to the Kuro.

PS - My wife appreciates your preachniess. May have just saved us $2,500 and alot of tears. lol

The guy sent me numerous videos showing me the screen and different types of content and we talked via email and phone for a week before I got it. I felt pretty comfortable with it. He also said if I noticed any issues we could work out a return, but it was as advertised. The weekend I got it set up, Chad B was passing through town and I had him calibrate it.It looks stellar as expected. So you definitely have to be cautious and go with your gut. Plus at the price I paid I am not worried about not having a warranty. It had about 1500 hours at the time of purchase.

That's awesome. Just another reason why I don't have a good feeling about this. I've asked the gentleman to call me twice now and he just ignores the question and keeps bringing up the paypal protection plan. Here is an email from him showing the reason for selling. And I quote:

"Here is a good photo of the TV. The buyer ended up backing out of the deal. The TV is new and factory sealed. Never even opened. TV is in perfect working condition. The TV was a Christmas gift however I had just bought a TV a couple weeks earliar. I am selling this one and not the other just because this one is still in the box and worth alot more. Could you do $2500?"

He says tv is in perfect working condition but how the hell does he know that? It's a tv that's been sitting in a box for over 3-4 years, which he claims, has never been opened. And who the hell gets a 9G Kuro for a Christmas present??? LOL Something definitely fishy about this.

The stuff he is saying has red flags written all over it!!!

Here is the latest email from the seller:

"You actually have a lot more protection than you realize. If you click on the link again you will see a picture of the PayPal website with a circle in that picture that has been magnified. It is easy to overlook however it says that you have 45 days to report any problem with your purchase to PayPal. Of course you would be protected if the tv does not turn on. That would fall under significantly not as described.

Why don't you just pay using your credit card? That way you will have months to file a charge back with your credit card company if any goes wrong.

I really don't see you having problems....I mean I can't even remember any tv ever breaking on me no matter how long I owned it. People just get new ones because they want to look at something different. I mean think about it....every tv you have ever owned....has it ever broken?.....This one is new and factory sealed. No one has gone so far as to peel the plastic off it. Plus like you pointed out....it's the best tv ever made.

I am not trying to avoid calling you. It's just so late now. There is no rush though. I found out that I will need to verify my bank account with PayPal in order to complete the sale which will take a couple days.

I also require a two working day handling time for order to ship. This helps protects me against payments that end up getting declined and that sort of thing....That being said it may be best to simply wait until Sunday to send the invoice. That way you will not have your payment tied up all weekend and I will be able to have your tracking number to you Tuesday around lunch time."

So what do you guys think?

Sounds like the same guy who has been trying to sell Elites on Amazon, eBay and here, http://goodbuyz57.weebly.com/

Or you could buy from this guy who has 1 bid from some one who created an accoutn so they could bid on the item. wink.gif

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200901864123&item=200901864123&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466

Do your homework -- call the CC company, etc. and ask them what they will/will not cover.

I'm not trying to be sacrcastic, so please don't take this the wrong way.

There is a Pioneer Owners thread that would be better suited for your topic than this thread.
Please take the rest of the discussion there so as to not hijack this thread.

Thanks. I'll do some more research.

No problem. I'll make sure to drop it from this thread. Thanks

Hello ,

A little more clarteux and a better image on BD for the LX55 finesse of no doubt to the Qdeo chip ...
Skin tone, shadow detail and contrast in the background are better and more natural on all Pioneer players compared to others

(Pioneer also allows you to adjust Gamma)

You bought the F8500? You don't want the ZT60?

Nice Bond shots. It looks even better in person on my 151.

I know the Bond pics are from his kuro. I wasn't asking if they were. How you got that from my post I have no idea.

Feel embarrassed?
No -- I don't feel embarassed. You referenced the Samsung then went directly to reference the Bond pics and then as usual you go right to a reference to your Kuro. Sloppy communication on your part and by the way -- anyone can own a Kuro -- you are not elite. I only looked at his post because he is going to have the 8500 and his Kuro -- and there you are -- popping up again.

But if I misunderstood your post I stand corrected.

Robert Zohn of Value Electronics posted on another forum that ISF Co-founder and renowned calibrator Kevin Miller, will be calibration an F8500 this weekend, and he will post his finds/review soon afterward.

This tells me everything i need to know about you. Wow, are you bothered by something? Why the need to go out of the way and mention that i have no idea. You are clearly upset for no reason. Stop making assumptions because i never ever EVER said i was elite. Stop getting emotional over things and maby you wouldn't think that. What a dumb comment. Holy ****.

Who the F are you? You don't like the way i post that's too damn bad. This is a forum where we discuss HT. Of course an owners equipment is going to be mentioned from time to time. You're just bothered by me talking about my kuro in a normal manner. This completely blows my mind. Stop being a baby.

And? I can post where ever the heck i want. You don't own this site. A forum is a place where you discuss things. You don't like seeing my post don't come here, otherwise deal with it.

No!! Sloppy reading comprehension on your part. No way my post read like what you thought. The reason it read that way TO YOU is because you have some hatred for kuro owners who keep talking about their kuros. Just like that other cry baby troll, rogo. Again, stop being a little baby about things like this. They're just TV's. Take off those rose glasses man they're f'n with your head.

Here's my original post-

Line break. LINE BREAK. Learn to read. And i also mentioned the ZT60 too. Go back under your troll bridge with rogo.

EDIT- Actually even if i didn't separate them my post still wouldn't be what you thought. In no way does that post question if the bond shots were from a F8500. Read what i was responding too. Jesus.

These are more "Neutral" on CRT's (anyway overall color intensity is better on the Kuro)
