also i turned the fake contrast setting DRE to off
it gives a boost in contrast but you can see that its fake and not real.
DRE is just like the dynamic contrast setting on the LED tvs.
you better leave it
some patterns is from the ice and some from the Moire
When content is ont eh screen and no black bars, I don't necessarily notice the black level issue anyway. But it's annoying knowing it's there and that the pic would be better if it worked properly. But this just goes to show the elites can't be considered the best of all time due to too many of them only working properly for a couple years. Their using the "best hardware" was obviously a waste because either it wasn't the best or else their software was dumb.
Idk why people bother trying to get this guy to agree...he's obviously pro KURO.
As am I but I can at least learn to appreciate what's actually available these days
Didnt i post that about two months ago now
Yep, well, vinnie is vinnie.
Anyway on to another subject - LCD.
I spent the weekend at the parents and having to watch an LCD for the time spent there made me realise (as if i didnt know already lol) how far and away in a big time way how far in front plasma is. ABL, really, is not an issue on the KRP's. Nor is light output - in fact at times light output is far superior on plasma in a completley natural way.
In fact once the contrast and backlight is brought into normal levels the only time the LCD (ever) beats the plasma is on a white only screen. But why bother - as it looks horrific imho. The KRP manages a bright clean white screen that appears natural - with out dimming.
