Using Comcast moto 6412 with digital PC TV turner card

Can I plug my Comcast moto 6412 directly into a digital pc tv turner card like (ATI TV Wonder 650, Hauppage WinTV 1600 or Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick) and easily watch and capture the live stream? Or should I use the IEEE1394 solution that I have read about. I have about 30 feet between the Comcast box and the computer and would have to purchase a firwwire active extension cable to make the IEEE1394 connection to work.
