AVS Members:

I have talked with several ISF Techs on AVS as well as other Member's here so I thought I would take this time to share this info.

Well I am finally getting my Runco VX5000ci with my New DHD Controller Up-grade ISF Calibrated in the morning (Thursday or Friday) 10/11/2007 or 10/12/2007.

Just got the Runco reinstalled after 2-months that it has been gone. Some of this time was Runco repairing the unit and then I signed up for the DHD Controller Up-grade. So High Tech-Innovations in Nashville, TN. ordered HDMI to DVI Cables and Runco shipped the DHD Controller to them.

So I signed up for the real thing with my Authorized Runco Dealer (High Tech-Innovations). A "Certified" ISF Tech with the Sencore Equipment. After this intial calibration he will return to do the final calibration once I have burned in the New-Lamp for Approx. 150-200 Hrs. At that time he will also install the New Samsung Dual-Format HD Player that will be out by year end.

Looking forward to see how much difference there will be in the picture. I have very high hopes.

I also Up-graded my Dish Network Satellite Receiver from the DVR622 to the New DVR722 Satellite Receiver.

The picture right now on HD Channels looks really Great so I am looking forward to see how the picture will look after the Calibration is completed in the Morning.

If any Member here is curious how this turns out as far as my opinion on any difference I see after this ISF Calibrations take place, I will be glad to do a follow-up Post here and share that with you. Just Post here if you are wanting a "Follow-Up" Post from me.

I am curious as to how your calibration turned out with your Runco and if all of your issues were resolved.* I have owned a Runco VX1000Ci for almost 4 years now and I have had mine calibrated and am on my 4th bulb and have had zero problems with this product!* As a relatively new member to AVS forum I have had to actively search for any information on any Runco products.* I know for me I am glad I shelled out a little extra for this product because it has definitely delivered a great picture with very accurate colors and black levels as well as being bright enough for a mixed use media home theater room.** Even though this model is a 720P projector and was state of the art when I had it professionally installed, it is still delivering the goods on a 100 inch Stewart Studiotech 130 and still looks amazing with HD sources with Direct TV and Sony BlueRay.* I plan on using this Runco projector for another 3 years or so before I upgrade so even though I paid a little extra on this product, it has definitely been a great value!* Anyone else out there with any feedback on Runco or maybe even their new Cinewide innovations, which I would like to upgrade to someday!*

Beamis,

Well it is nice to hear from another Runco member here on AVS. I'm glad you are enjoying your VX1000ci and I'm sure it is doing a fine job for you with the Picture.

As you know I have the VX5000ci that is also a 720P Projector with the New DHD Controller. Everything is working exactly like it should. Thank-Goodness !!!

After the ISF Calibration was completed I was watching it every evening and on weekends almost continuously. Could not get enough of it. I do have 1-more ISF Calibration due me and have Pre-Paid for it. It has not been done at this time as of yet. Suppose to take place this Month.

The Runco Products IMO are a Great Value based on "Performance & Support" from Runco while under Warranty and also even out of Warranty.

I am viewing on a Richard Greyhawk 123" with 4-Way Masking with Remote Control for the Masking Feature. Really cool with the different Aspect Ratio's for Movies.

Mine I think is like 5-Yrs. Old. Without looking it up.

I was on the 20K and Up Forum a lot but Honestly the members here are not the most Friendly and therefore I backed off on Posting on it after awhile. Plus Runco here on this Forum does not usually get met with many "Positive-Remarks". If you have any further questions though I will be more than glad to Reply to them the best I can. There are a FEW-Members here that are Polite and willing to Assist a Member with a Runco Projector but they are Few & Far Between.

I also have Dish and have the New DVR722 Receiver. Now that the HD WAR is Over I am going to purchase a High End Blu-Ray Player this year. I have at this time a Integra SD DVD Player. It is showing 480P HD Picture so it looks just fine until I get a Blu-Ray player.

I have not been watching the HT much here lately because I just placed an order for the New "Bullitt-Mustang" for 2008. So have been spending a Great Deal of my Time & Energy on http://www.imboc.com/main/ which stands for, "International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club". Mine is scheduled for a Build Date of March 10, 2008 so have some time before I will get my hands on it.

Still Love the HT though and do get to watch it some but nothing like what I did when I 1st got it back and Calibrated.

Take Care,

Terry
