Hopefully, as a non-owner, these questions can be excused considering the title of this subforum, but could not locate another dedicated 95 forum and you owners WILL HAVE the right answers from experience or knowlege of this fine product.
I decided to purchase an inexpensive 3rd generation HD-DVD player for that format and am looking for a high quality 3rd generation BD player that is not plagued with problems forcing many owners to end up being unpaid beta testers. Pending the answers to these questions, I have a strong interest in the 95 piece, but since my favorite brand of pre/pro drags their heels for a year or more after any new standard comes out, I cannot decode any of the HD audio formats in my pre/pro and have been told that my preferred brand of pre/pro has no plans to bring one out
. Therefore, I need all HD audio format codecs and processing in the BD player, including DTS-MA and have them outputted via bitstream from Toslink or digital coax to my pre/pro.
I read the info on the Pioneer Site and these details were sketchy at best.
--Does the 95 do the processing of all HD audio formats including the elusive DTS-MA format and output it via bitstream from the Toslink or video coax out as well as sending it through the 1.3a HDMI (for future use if and when a new pre/pro or audio processor from my favorite company actually becomes available)?
--IF DTS-MA is not processed internally, are there plans for a F/W upgrade later that would enable circuitry to do so then?
--How about processing and outputting HD audio in 7.1 when it arrives?
--Which video chipset is used for upconversion?
My apologies for posting here, but if the answers are what I am looking for, then I will become an owner, otherwise, I guess I will have to wait until the 1.1 players arrive and then wait for the results of the end-user beta testing...
