I'm looking to hook up my cell phone (have a plug that allows attachment of a mic and 3.5mm stereo audio) and my mp3 player. So basically I need 2 3.5mm to go into 1 input.

I have tried a simple splitter, this result in considerably reduced sound quality for both devices (although the cell phone quality and volume went down much more than the ipods). Is my splitter bad, is this the wrong way to go about this, what other options do I have?

I wanted to install a bluetooth receiver for my phone, but no receivers I've found that I can hook up to my stereo have an aux pass through so I can also connect the mp3 player. So even with bluetooth receiver for the phone, I would still have 2 3.5mm plugs and only 1 input.

Anyone know how I can get this to work, wired or wireless.

Thanks, B
