So I think I know the answer to this question; however I thought I would get input. I'm rebuilding my screen wall and replacing my 110" diagonal Carada (16:9) w/ a Seymour that is 120" wide (2.35:1). I'm using Gold LCR w/ an inwall center Gold LCR. Attached is the current state of affairs.
Here's the question - My center will be 12.5ft from the listener (tweeter to ear). Should I mount my L/R just inside the screen (ie, behind) which will be under 120" (10ft) tweeter to tweeter (more like 9ft) .... OR, should I put them where they are in the picture which is just outside the screen or about 12.5ft (tweeter to tweeter). My guess is outside the screen since that creates a equilateral triangle making the width ~45 degrees from the listener (ie, 22.5 degrees for each L/R). Since dolby says 22-30 degrees, this is probably a non-question, but thought I would ask.
Can't wait to get the room back together. Missing my Triads (and excited about the new screen).Edited by pauleyc - 4/16/13 at 3:59pm
