Best way to put a DVD movie on your iPod?

I read the LOCKED thread that sort of walked you through the steps but I was wondering how long the Conversion would take if you needed to convert a DVD movie to the mp4 format. Can it be done under 24 hours? 24 hours is how long a friend said it took to convert when he tried it.

handbrake. Depending on your proc speed it's around real time.

Unless your using a PC. Then the post above might be sufficient.

Clone DVD Mobile takes approximately 20 minutes to rip a 2 hour movie to MP4 using a high end PC. I have an Archos 605 WIFI and rip all movies @ 720 x 400 in about 20 minutes each.

I second Clone DVD Mobile, but dont forget the magnifying glass when viewing on iPod. Personally find it way to tiny for a 2 hour movie. Archios or a DVD player with a flash card would be the way to go for that in my opinion. Either way Clone DVD mobile is pretty good.

I second DVDFAB plat, it does a really great job and fairly quick.

BTW, this is for cmaxwell, not sure if you saw my post in ref to dvdfab platinum and how or even if you can convert widescreen to fullscreen? I do not believe you can or at least if you can I do not think my zune will play the resolution that it would be converted to.
