Hi guys,I am new here.We are about to purchase a LCD tv and we are comparing a few models.Aquos 46d64u,Bravia 46W3000,and Bravia 46XBR2.The former two are available in the local store and the XBR2 is only available right now in the sony outlet store in the states. The 46D64 the price is 2200 CAD after some negotiation and the W3000 is 2500 CAD.The xbr2 is on sale right now for less than 2100 US dolalrs. I caculated the cost for going down south to pick the XBR2 up and come back, pay the taxes, will end up cost about the same if I buy the aquos here and about 300 CAD less than the W3000.

Now it really comes to the part that I need to compare these 3 models.None has 120hz I know 92U or XBR4,5 are just simply too much $.Among these 3 models, which one is the best? Is it worth paying 300 for the W3000 just cauz it's a newer model over the XBR2?

We decided to pick one among these 3 and not look at other models any more.Any help is appreciated! Thanx in advance!

go with the 46W3000
the xbr2 have a massive backlight clouding & the Sharp's still have a banding problem.

W3000 - on-screen contrast ratio: 2000:1; dynamic contrast ratio: 16000:1
XBR 3 - on-screen contrast ratio: 1300:1; dynamic contrast ratio: 7000:1

W3000 - 10-bit panel
XBR 3 - 8-bit panel

There's no question, spend the extra few bucks & get the W3000.

I also owned the Sharp 46D62U, which is more or less the exact same as the 46D64 & i wasn't impressed, besides banding, it had red push, weaker contrast, like the Sony sets it had a auto-dimming that can't be turned off (only really dims when the entire screen is black)
The motion is the same as most other 8ms LCD's even though it has a better response time of 4ms.
