Onkyo SKS-HT540 VS Cerwin-Vega CVHD 5.1

Thread Starter
I've been looking to complete my surround sound setup. I have L and R speakers right now so I only need a 5.1 addition, but I could use the 2 extra speakers in another room if I wanted to (it would end up being a 4 channel stereo setup in there).

I've pretty much narrowed it down to either the Onkyo SKS-HT540 or the Cerwin-Vega CVHD 5.1

Given the Onkyo setup is about 1/3 the price of the Cerwin Vega, is the Cerwin really good enough to justify the price difference? What are your guys' opinions?

Thanks.

I had a chance of doing a side to side comparison between the two. I decided on an Onkyo setup (Onkyo HT-SP904) because of budget limitations.
The Onkyo speaker package sounds very well, but IMO the CVHD is just better:
- More powerful.
- Impressive sub that really outperforms any other speaker package sub I've heard.
- Speakers provide a more detailed sound (perhaps a bit harsh).
