2007 MLB Playoffs ALCS Game 2 on FOX HD - Indians vs. Red Sox!

Thank God Fox has the American League series in HD here in SoCal. I was getting extremely annoyed at the crappy TBS analog coverage here. And my eyes will pop out of my head if TBS continues to show that same comercial over and over again (The Frank Show). Now for some real HD action. I have Cox cable and TBS HD is not available.

Or what passes for HD aka "Fox Twice Enhanced Widescreen." Any word on if/when they'll make the second upgrade to 1080i? The image and McCarver suck. Always a downgrade from NESN and TBS... Go Sox!!

Don't hold your breath. Disney and News Corp are committed to 720p.

Nothing like crappy "HD" video with SD replays and SD graphics.

TBS PQ was outstanding. I got on here to post how crummy the FOX broadcast looks. TBS sound and picture blows away FOX hands down. I wish TBS had the ALCS and the World Series.

I am watching OTA from FOX 6 - Birmingham, AL

Replays are HD and I would highly doubt that the graphics are SD.

I was hoping it would be better PQ like the playoff games were back in 2005, FoxHD has definitely gone downhill since then, at least their MLB endeavors, TBSHD looked way better than this . .. Go Tribe!!

Watching on WJBK via Comcast in Detroit.

The whites appears a bit hot, but other then that PQ is good.

WJBK via Comcast in Detroit here too. I recorded the post series games for 2 years running and the PQ has gotten progressively worse comparing 2006 and now this to the recordings I have from 2005. I've seen it worse than this on the regular season Saturday games, but I would consider the PQ tonight OK at best, more grainy than crisp detail.

I can't comment on how it compares to TBS (too cheap at the moment to upgrade my dish hardware) but it looks pretty good OTA from KFOX in El Paso. I agree that the whites seemed a bit high, but I just switched my TV's color settings a bit. Of course, I'm also really bad at telling these kinds of things unless it's blurry or something really obvious.

There's something wrong with the audio, though. Oh wait, that's just McCarver and Buck.

Until we got really good PQ on D* with TBS there was nothing to compare it to. We've seen watered down HD Lite for so long you dont notice the difference cause it all looked bad. FOX just mails it in now - same graphics - they used to have amazing audio and thats just so-so. TBS has really cool graphics and great sound hearing the glove pop. Yeah, they didn't do the best with replays etc but I wouldn't be typing during my game if the broadcast wasnt so lame.

GO TRIBE!!!!!!!

How much lower can the score overlay go? Pretty soon all we will see is the station logo (Why do I need to be constantly reminded what station I am watching) and half the action.

I also notice rival news station starting to pan and scan their highlights in order to "erase" the overlay thus resulting in a craptacular picture.

Is wanting a more subdue score overlay (If it must be done) asking too much?

only sources tonight that are upconverted are the lo home hyper mo and the bug.

once again differences in compression and tx (and the switch from 1080i to 720p) are the only difference from what you saw at Yankee Stadium last week and here.

it is darker here than at YS.

In today's world of hundreds of channels and internet piracy you won't be seeing many moments of network television without a network logo, except for The Masters.

Is Fox using GCV Yankee Clipper?

The cheesiest thing is how they stretched the ACLS logo in the FOX bar. That is so unlike FOX to mail it in this way. Fox is normally cutting edge on graphics. Did they just contract this game out and fly in a producer? That's what it looks like.

go sox!

y'know, if i hadn't been watching the tbs hd for the last series, this wouldn't be so bad...

but i have...

noisy... swimming grass... scoreline thingie is very annoying so low on the screen...

audio, otoh, is pretty good, except that the level seems to go in and out... when the level is good, i can almost imagine i'm sitting up in the bleachers like when i was a kid... other than the leveling, the only thing that could be significantly better is if i could mute joe buck...

comcast south jersey...

It's like this all the time. After seeing NESN, TBSHD, YESHD, TBSHD, HDNET over the past few years there's really no comparison. About the only upgrade from 04 is the lack of the ground loop hum.

Seriously! What were they thinking? It looks like my old ColecoVision console graphics!

I am completely dismayed by the quality of the Fox broadcast compared to the TBSHD. I thought it was my TV and started messing with settings. Ugh. And here I was complaining about Ted Turner's take over of the NLCS... and they have the superior picture! .... AND they don't have McCarver & Buck!

Comcast in Central Jersey

Go Sox!

Then watermark the sucker, and be discreet instead of the "in your face, bright and beautiful logo, look at the station your watching instead of concentrating on the action" advert.

Why so low too? Pretty soon the graphics presentation will clutter the screen so much they will have to pan the action all the way back to nosebleed territory. Probably going to need binoculars to see where the ball goes till they can properly frame the shot to zoom in (Football in this case).

Transformers?? WTF was that?

Did Fox just use a Transformers animation before going to the ATT trivia question last inning. I guess you can sponsor anything now a days.

If you happen to know what is TBS using out in Arizona?
