How can my Onkyo SR705 Tuner receive the digital signal from my Sirius SC-H1??

I just connected my Sirius SC-H1 Home Tuner to my Onkyo TX-SR705. I connected it using the 8 pin into the Sirius connection and also used the digital cable to send sound through the Opt 2 connection. The sound going through the 8 pin in Tuner mode sounds analog and bad. I want the digital sound, but I still want to be in tuner mode so I can see the channels menu screens on display. HELP!!!!

Only somebody with experience with the Sirius SC-H1 can really answer this one. It may bot be possible, it also may be possible.

So if you disconnect and use the optical output, it sounds better? I'd verify this before going through to much troubles. For those of us used to truly high end audio, Sirius sounds pretty bad in general you know.
