Why are these so difficult to find? Seems odd they would send out display units this long ago and still have none in stock.

When I was at Best Buy in Chicago they said that they would have them on Dec 4 (today). They were back ordered but planned on getting shipments in now. It was for the standard $999 price.

A couple of stores in my area show that they are in stock per the web site, and I picked one up today that I had previously paid for.

Awesome. Can you post a review in the review thread when you have a chance. Also if you can tell us the Firmware version that would be great. The code to show the firmware is in the review thread as well. Just remember the drive has to be empty for the code to work.
