If you don't want any of the BOGO titles try this: I went to Best Buy bought 2 of the BOGO titles:Pearl Harbor and Pirates. Already had Pirates(nothing else i wanted from the BV BOGO) so i went back the next day to exchange it, clerk said to go pick out what you want instead. Picked up Mission Impossible III(not part of BOGO) and he did an even exchange, no hassle.

Sounds YMMV. Did they look at your receipt?

BB is having a BOGO on select sony titles next week. titles include 5th element & Patriot. (I'm too lazy to type up the complete list).

I'm going to grab a few from Sony's BOGO on Sunday hoping it will count for this weeks sales data.

It says "look for more BD discs in store. not valid on titles above $34.99"

Silly question:
How do you guys know what tomorrow's BB add contains? I was going to buy a couple of discs at $14.99 today at BB, but will wait till tomorrow if they will be BOGO. If they aren't I am back to $19.99 on amazon.

BB's ad is ususally shown on slickdeals.net on Thursday or Friday before the effective date. You can see it there now.

Well, Fry's BOGO ended yesterday and the Circuit City that had BOGO on Thursday did not have them last night.

I can only speculate that the BOGO was a one time/week sale and wouldn't expect another one tomorrow/next week.

Also, you can buy them at BB today and return them tomorrow if unopened if they happen to have another BOGO. This way you're covered either way.

unfortunately they are the same 6 or 7 discs that have been on sale all last week for just about every stinking store. and Frys had them for 9.99 apiece.

i'm going broke bought all these in one week and before all the sales really only 2 of them would of been bought

The BB ad doesn't show BOGO, it says 2 for $30, which is what's going on right now anyway.

It's hard to tell, but it looks like the ad indicates the 2 for $30.00 sale includes discs under $34.95. Can anyone tell if this is correct? The footnote indicated 1 and 2 had to do with the 5 free discs. 4 had to do with purchase of one of the Toshiba sets. I couldn't find the corresponding 3 on the page, so I figured it might be for the 2 for $30.00 sale. Anyone know for sure?

Sorry, no go. Note 3 refers to the 2 free disks with the HD DVD player on the facing page. These are to be selected from disks $34.95 and under.

From what deal did you get the Blu-ray Starship Troopers?

Well, I went in tonight to exchange Jay and Silent Bob as I forgot I ordered it on the Amazon.com BOGO and saw the BOGO sign still up on the isle. I picked up an exchange and figured, "What the hell" and grabbed a few more and went to the counter.

I asked if the deal was still going and he said it ends tonight. Sure enough, he did the exchange and took my other two and did the half off bit on each disc. We talked for a minute and wished this was on HD-DVD's too and said that Blu Ray got an awesome deal. Told him to hold on and went back to see if I could squeeze some FOX titles in there. Started off with Courage Under Fire and Speed (both $34.99 titles). He went in and did the deal. "DAMN!!!" Told him to hold on again and grabbed X-Men 3 and Flight of the Phoenix (again, both $34.99) and he rang it up. All four FOX titles came in at $17.49. Hot damn! I should have picked up more, but didn't want to push my luck (2 extra trips!). And in between all this he said it's only good on the titles listed...

And yes, for those who doubt, I can produce the receipt.

I would have liked to get more titles myself, but I've run into the problem of the remaining available titles not being interesting to me. I've been collecting used and sale titles for a couple months and it's become more difficult now -- too many titles are not a good fit! Again, congratulations on finding a store that would play along !

You left out the part about how this is intended as product education for retailers and industry types. That is great for them, but it doesn't do anything for the other 95% of AVSers. Unless you are suggesting we should all lie?

80GB PS3 is sitting at 474.99$ (5% off) in the quick picks section for me. Hopefully some others will also have this in their QP section. This is Sunday's QPs, btw.

I'm still holding out for WM to hopefully drop the 60GB model's price before I bite (with 20% off - hopefully they'll last until December when I can get that), but this is a decent deal considering it was 599.99$ just a week ago.
