BB won't price match according to the BB across the street from my CC and the Manager at CC said it's a non-advertised sale. Just comes up when you send them across the register. The cashier at my place was saying that tons of people have been coming in every since they opened getting Blu Rays and HD DVD's. He said it was almost 100% of the people were coming in and getting Transformers and something else, whether it be HD DVD or Blu Ray or a ton of each.

Anyone had any luck trying to get Best Buy to match this deal?

I was at both the 80th and 14th Street CC in NYC, and had very little of the newer titles I was looking for. Did manage to pick up

Blu-Ray
FF2
COTGF

HD-DVD
Bourne Identity
Bourne Supremacy

I was trying to find catalog Fox Titles, but they were none. Best Buy had Robocop and if they would match I would pick that up. The CC deal applied to even new releases; they had The Reaping and A Mighty Heart. Can anyone recommend The Reaping?
I'm also curious about the BB price match. I want to grab a few titles on both formats, but my CC has a crappy selection.

This makes me so mad. I went to Circuit City and it looks like they didn't have a deal going on at all. I called a guy over and he said he hasn't heard of this sale going on at all. So everything in store was still full price. Do I have to go to the register and wait for the discount to apply there?

Went to Circuit City and picked up:
Fifth Element [Blu] $10.01
Surfs Up [Blu] $12.01
Robocop [Blu] $12.01
Transformers [HD] $12.01
Heroes S1 [HD] $31.40 <--- I was trying to price match the HD version at Walmart.com and the employee wasn't paying attention and priced matched the SD version instead!

bought a pack of Eclipse Gum to put me over the $100 mark then stacked the $15 of $100 coupon for a grand total of $84.51
Life is good!

The discount won't appear until they hit total.

Definitely worth a call....you never know they may have more in back. I got Flags of Our Fathers for $15 and I'm tickled pink with that one since it's paramount and you won't see any more for awhile.

WAIT A MINUTE!!!?!!

HEROES HD DVD S1 for $31.40?!? Box set is included?

The CC in my area would not give BOGO deal on any BR priced above $24.99. So, I left them at the register and left.
I don't own a Blu-ray player yet but plan on picking one up later this year to be format neutral.
They only had one copy left of The Fifth Element at CC today so I bought it.
However nowhere do I see on the box that says it is remastered!
How can I tell that I got the remastered version and not the first one?

Thanks
Just got back from CC here in Nashville, TN in the bellevue area. They actually knew about the deal and agreed how crazy it was. But i picked up 6 movies, for a grand total of 92 bucks after tax. 4 29.99 and 2 24.99.

Picked up Surfs up, Chicken Little, The Wild, Last Samurai, Finding Neverland, and Stargate.

All movies id like ot have in my collection or check out(3d movies), but wouldnt normally have spent money on. Great deal.

The remastered version has a PCM track as well as a TruHD track. Look for the Dolby TruHD logo near the bottom on the left hand side. That will tell you whether or not it's remastered. Believe me the remastered edition is stunning!!! I'd put it as high on the tier list as I could. I actually thought it was better than either of the two Pirates movies in AQ and PQ

Original = white security sticker will read "FIFTH ELEMENT BD" and the UPC code is: 43396150188

Remastered = white security sticker will read "FIFTH ELEMENT RE BD" and the UPC code is:43396215207

Yes! The Dolby TrueHD logo is present. This means that I definitely have the remastered version?

CC at Beltline/Monfort in Addison has a good stock. They had 28 days and 28 weeks, FFROSS, Robocop at lunch. I wanted DAT or Fly, but none in sight. Some clerk was telling people there was a sale, but only on 40 select titles and none of the new stuff. He offered to get "the list" off of his computer, but I declined. The check out clerk was giving 1/2 off of everything, 24.99 or 29.99. Both BD and HD-DVD.

I have gotten so many lately I pussied out and only got two, Usual Suspects and Planet of the Apes. I never see those on sale, so I felt OK about getting them. Put back four more.

You guys are costing me money!

Went down to both Little Rock stores today and bought ten HD DVD and several Blu Rays disks (and I don't even own a Blu Ray player yet!?!)

Funny thing was; the copy of Polar Express was fully factory sealed but when I opened it there was NO DISK inside. Just an empty case with the little HD DVD ad in there. Now I've got to drive back down there to straighten that out. The horror is; I'll undoubtedly buy some more disks when I return!

Will it never end?!?

DrDon's Special Frys Emporium is soon to close. This is the final night for the Frys $9.99 per Blu-ray movie sale. Have you ordered ALL the ones you want yet?

http://shop3.outpost.com/search?plus...20Movies:Spot5

Remember, except The Fifth Element (Remastered), for you can ignore the "sold out" flags. Just order the ones you want and you'll get them for the $9.99 price.

The Million Dollar baby + Transformer did not work on BOGO. I even caused a semi mild fuss and it did not work either . They were adamant that since it was a new release, plus a HD-DVD and BD combo would not work. The manager even referred to their ad which said "certain titles", although he had no clue what those titles were

I tried KoH, which did not work again, since CC has it at 34.99. Oh bugger!!!.

Anyway, I ended up with:

1- Million Dollar Baby: $12.50
2- The Getaway: $12.50
3- The Last Samurai: $12.50
4- Stargate: $12.50

Some of these are not the best movies, but have good HD quality, plus being WB and Lionsgate titles, which are hard to get on sale.

The Encinitas and Vista (San Diego county) CC stores are out of Surf's Up and no The Fly, for now.

To add to the 6 from yesterday:

- Bullitt
- Letters from Iwo Jima
- Fantastic 4 RoSS
- Day After Tomorrow
- Devils Reject
- Enemy of the State

Plus another ten or so Sony titles from Fry's at $9.99, has expanded my BD collection to 65.

To follow up:

I went back to the Vista, CA CC store and this time, the Transformers HD-DVD rang up at $15 if combined with another HD movie purchase. The cashier was fine by BD being an HD disk

So, I picked up:

A- Transformers: $15
B- Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: $15
C-Troy: $15
D- T2 Judgment Day: $12.50

Since I no longer have any HD-DVD player (I dislike Toshiba and most of their products, but please do not flame ), I will either have to watch the SD DVD side in my upconverting Samsung BD-P1200, or just go grab a cheapo HD-DVD player (dang, another Toshiba ) and just keep NetFlix, for renting HD-DVD titles, as my BD plate is now really full

Damn, I totally forgot I had a $15 off $100 coupon sitting here at home. That would have made this already-sweet deal even sweeter.

I can confirm that the BOGO deal works at both the Clackamas and Tigard Circuit City locations in the Portland, OR, area. Neither seemed to be particularly picked over, although the Tigard store had more new titles. Between the two I picked up almost every single HD DVD and Blu-ray I had on my list.

My haul:

$25 discs
Last Samurai
Bourne Identity
Blood Diamond
Nutty Professor
The Fugitive
Trading Places
Terminator 3
Casino
Total Recall
Reservoir Dogs
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
The Patriot
Dawn of the Dead (remake)
Coming to America
Halloween

$30 discs
Breakfast Club
Transformers
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Surf's Up
28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Knocked Up

Total: $292.50
Average: $13.30/disc
