Audio/Video Set up - Need Help

Here is what I have:

- Time Warner HD/DVR Box with HDMI
- Panasonic 50in Plasma TH-50PX75U (With HDMI)
- Sony upconvert DVD Player DVP-NS77 (With HDMI)
- Pioneer Receiver VSXD814
- 2 Front Speakers Only

How do I set this up using HDMI cables, when my receiver does not have the capability?

Since I am new at this. I would appreciate it if someone could help me set up from component to component.

Assuming your plasma has two HDMI inputs:

HD-DVR: HDMI to plasma, digital audio to Pioneer receiver (either optical or coaxial)
DVD: HDMI to plasma, digital audio to Pioneer receiver (either optical or coaxial)

You may have to change a setting in your DVR/DVD to enable audio output from the digital connection instead of the HDMI. Also, you will have to switch both receiver inputs and TV inputs to change sources.

IF your plasma has only one HDMI input, you will need to buy a 2-1 HDMI switcher.

Thanks for the info. My Plasma does have 2 HDMI inputs. I was planning on running like you mention HDMI into Plasma from DVD and HD Box. But regarding the audio I was hoping that I could run just one audio cable (Digital) from Plasma to Receiver. Then I would only have to change my video source not video and audio? That would not work?

So basically I would not have any video going into receiver. I would just have audio into receiver?
