Sub Upgrade, Performance vs. Price

Hi folks,
I'm looking to get a new subwoofer for my HT. My theatre is 12.5 x 12.5 x 9ft. I also live above another family, but they are young and kinda like listening to the movies we watch

I play 60% movies, %40 music. I'm considering getting the BIC H-100 for about $200. However I catch the upgrade bug pretty easy. So, I'm considering spending about $550 on a Parts Express Titanic 12". Or maybe even the RS1200.

I'm wondering if the Titanic would perform soo much better that I could justify the increase in cost. Also, I'm going to be putting my theatre in a larger room in the not so distant future. But then maybe I would run two BIC H-100's?

can't judge the two as i have not had or listened to either but i know from experience
that if you don't purchase what you really want a second purchase is just around the
corner and resale of used eq is very low.

Instead of two BIC H-100's, I would get the Ed A5-350 for $600 delivered, or the A7-450 for $700 delivered.

I'm really only wanting to go as big as a 12" driver. I really like the idea of buying the titanic sub as a kit, and putting it together myself. Currently I'm helping my brother put together some Natalie P's. We built the crossover together, but he's doing the cabinetry himself.

Finding reviews of the Parts Express Titanics hasn't been very successful.

If you want a 12 inch driver, I would buy an SVS SB-12 Plus. SVS has a real maple SB-12 Plus as B-Stock. I have an SVS 20-39PCi that I bought as B-Stock for $550, and it is in perfect condition. The B-Stock SB-12 Plus is $649 plus shipping, and is perfect for a room of your size.
