Yes, But I had to burn a disc actually a CD-R/W most have been using the CD-R disc. with success. I tried 2 times with Nero and they were unsuccessful, I did switch over to active@ISO burner 1.1 to burn the disc at 2x speed and it went slick as dog doo-doo. It appears that Nero would not burn it at a slow enough speed. That does appear to be weird though because other posters have burned with other burners and had success. I think that's what is so frustrating about this stuff the inconsistency's The good news is I have now viewed 12 HDs with no problems.
Good Luck

someone else tried this and found out cable is cable however there is always a chance your cable could be damaged.

OK.. next step taken...
I just ordered a set of these MonoPrice 1.3a cables.

After they arrive, I'll report on what if any difference is made.

Again... thanks for the suggestions, folks.
It's truly appreciated.

I'm having a problem with the "Digital Direct Audio Mode". I have this turned on so my receiver (Onkyo 805 via HDMI) will decode the sound. Sometimes the selection in the menu seems to be turned off, even though it's not. I can watch a movie sometimes and cycle through the sound options (PLIIX, Cinema, Pure Audio, etc), but DD+ or DD True HD (depending on the movie or sound selected from the menu) is not an option. If I stop the the A35, go into setup, the setting shows "on". If I change the value to "off", then back "on", and start the movie again, it will default to the correct sound option (DD+ or True HD). I can then cycle through the different options if I want, and those options will always be available.

So it seems like the value is turned off, but is shows "on" in the setup menu. Does anyone else have a problem like this? I hate to return it, because it plays everything I thorw at it.

I've also had one instance where the player didn't sync with the TV (Sony 60A3000). I play it at 1080p24, but one time it only started up at 1080p60. Not sure what happened there.

I believe if you hit the audio button on your Toshiba remote you can cycle through until you get the sound field you want if it is avaliable.

I updated my to 1.3 and played Bourne U and Harry Potter no problem.

Yeah, bubt it does not tell me what audio it is on. That's the only thing right now I don't like.

If you hit the display button twice it will tell you what audio is either being output or decoded.

i had the same issue. it seems as though on ocasion the a35 may send lpcm instead of bitstream... why who knows? best bet is to check the status screen of the a35 or the display of the 805 and insure it is bitstreaming. if not stop the unit and re-start. this is better than finding out half way through the movie and you have to stop and scan back to where you were. this happened to me on transformers and my fw is 1.3 these glitches make me really appreciate my panny bd30.

No luck with update today... so, maybe tomorrow....

Runnng this hdmi into my Onkyo 805

Ok so I just spent the last few hours reading and searching this thread. I have an Onkyo 805 (no REON or upscaling) and plan to get a Panasonic plasma that will do 1080p/60 but no 24fps. How annoying is the 1080p/60 glitch gonna be? What would be the best setting for the A35? I haven't actually got the A35 yet either. I was planning this with a PS3
post #1903 of 4859
My first experience with the A35 was not the best as it would crap out on Batman return while my a20 had no issues.

Am happy to report that I watched the Matrix trilogy, bourne ult and tranformers with zero issues all movies looked amazing and the sound was insane.

I used Nero to burn the 2.7 firmware for my A2 several months ago and it worked great. I burned it at either 2x or 4x.

LOL. I wouldn't call it a "glitch." It's how you've been watching movies on TV for your whole life so far. Like cappyxavs I have a Panny plasma, the TH58pz700u, and the A35 along with my PS3 look amazing on this thing. Motion looks like it always has on TV, only much clearer, brighter and more colorful.

Thanks ChrisO. You have the exact TV I am planning to get. Also thanks cappyxavs for your response. I think I am gonna order this thing from Amazon tonight

Anytime. I'm sure you'll love the TV. And the A35. And the PS3.

Yes sir, that's kinda what I was talking about on my post, I did not even do the last downloads and burn with Nero. I had a close friend who is a PC whiz and is in charge of our county's computers. A true geek, and he had no success with the 2 CDs he burned for me. But when I used the active ISO burn program it worked. You know what though, anybody that has tried to burn anything to a CD probably has made a lot of small useless Frisbees. Oh yes I also have the Nero 7 Ultra edition program that I tried before my buddy did on the county PCs. My wife purchased me a Halo 3 Xmas present. 1st when I popped it into my X-Box It would not play it said I needed an update. I do not play on line. I just wanted solo game play at home. I eventually got it working. The point is that the average person buying any of this stuff may not know that you have to try all this stuff again and again etc. Sorry I'm venting did not mean to get off A-35 and and into general electronic use. Don't even get me started on our new coffee brewing machine. (What use to be a coffee pot) Back to my player, it has been a smooth as silk performances since FW upgrade and that's the good news, again 12 DVDs with 5 freebies coming and 2 ordered from Amazon.

Active@ ISO Burner 1.1 is one I used that worked great a freebie also. I like freebie programs that work even better. I will keep link of ISO recorder v2. A lot of these last few posts have been covered by much earlier dated posts but it saves new people a lot of reading and hunting especially if you are fooling around with your new toy. You know how that is.
Thank you

Hello:

Is the issue with the CD upgrade that people are simply copying the ISO file to a CD rather then using a program (like NERO, etc.) to 'expand' the files in the iso image to a disk?

Ok, going to try the update on my new A35....

But I thought I would ask...

With my A35 running into my Onkyo 805... what are the best settings to have ?
I just got my A35 for Christmas too. Now if my Integra DTC-9.8 would show up, I could put my system to work! =)

I have the Onkyo 705 receiver and I love it (I'm waiting for my A35 to arrive). I can only imagine how much you're going to love Onkyo's higher end DTC-9.8. Enjoy!!
