I'll quit hijacking joerod's thread and start my own here.

I haven't used it for a movie yet. Just a test run on the set-up this afternoon. As others have stated - quality seems to be top notch. Took no more than 2 minutes to inflate with the included blower.

As you will see a little sag in the top horizontal member, keep in mind that there was no tension on the ropes. I think when I pull the right and left uprights out from the top, it will likely remove any sag. Just my thoughts on this.

So, here are some pics.

That looks awesome. What HP blower were you using? Do you think if you had a stronger blower it would fix the sag? Let us know what happens when you put tension on the ropes. Also can you do rear projection on these screens?

I can't tell you what the HP of the blower. He stated that it is a 950 watt blower - that's all I know. A stronger blower may be the ticket - I'll play around with the ropes first. You can rear project on this screen.

Thanks. It's 16' x 9'. I finally used it last weekend. The sag is noticeable, but mainly to me. I have another showing tonight and I'll decide if I want to upgrade the blower at some point.

Trying to see if I can get my homeowners association to pay for this so we can have movie night every Sat during the summer. We have a very large amphitheater that never gets used. I'm thinking $3k for the screen, proj, speakers and amp. I have an HD-A2 that we could use. I think it would be fun. If not maybe I'll buy it all then charge them every week. Wouldn't take long to break even.

Try buying used equip for the outdoor. I picked up a 5.1 Klipsch system for $350 off craigslist and a refurbished receiver with 1080p pass thru for $200. I hooked the speakers up inside and they sound great, just not cosmetically perfect. Neither are what I want for my indoor theater, but since I will be packing/unpacking I figure it is good enough for the great outdoors. $800 for the screen, $125 for cabling, the Panasonic ax200u for $1299. So a full outdoor system that will look and sound great for under $2800. For now the PJ will do double duty, but maybe next year I will get a dedicated PJ for inside.

I would be hesitant showing movies outside of your personal residence, for a paying audience or a gathering of home owners without proper licencing. Outdoor showings for most movies run $250-$350 to licence for a single viewing and most Disney flicks are not available during the school year. Check with Swank for the largest selection and more info if your going to present movies in a public forum.
