Nothing in particular-and certainly no "insider" information. But IMHO if it was easy to create a Profile 1.1 player, it would have already been done. The Broadcom 7440 SoC (system-on-a-chip) processor in the Samsung was
announced almost a year ago, and I
assume that the Blu-ray standards for the software are set, so Samsung has already had awhile to work out the bugs-yet the necessary firmware is apparently still delayed until
next year? CE manufacturers announce their
intentions all of the time, and then change their plans based on the current realities. Do you expect to see the promised BDP2400 from Samsung anytime soon?
I'm just more of a believe-it-when-it-happens kind of guy. I have great
hopes for the BD-UP5000, it sounds like a super player- that's why I'm followimg the threads. Sorry to come across as negative, but it seems a little premature to announce Profile 1.1 with exclamation marks, IMHO.
