Yamaha RX-V1800 HDMI Problem??!!

Hello all,

Just recently purchased a Yamaha RX-V1800, Bell ExpressVu 9200 and Sanyo PLV-Z5. I had planned on running 9200->HDMI->Receiver->HDMI->Projector, however I seem to be having video output issues with my Yamaha.

When I connect 9200->HDMI->Projector I get video, however, when running through the receiver I get audio, but no video. Are there certain settings I have to adjust within the receiver? It should simply be a 720p HDMI passthrough. The receiver DOES show it is receiving a 720p signal when I look through the settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Phil

I'm not familiar with the 9200. is it a cable settop box? I know my motorola cable doesn't send the signal properly through HDMI to my 1700, which is last year's yamaha. It doesn't recognize the receiver as a repeater, so the signal stops there and the receiver can't output it. It's really dumb and in my case isn't the receiver's fault. I just bit the bullet and had comcast give me some component cables and it worked fine. You might search the net, my issue was VERY common with my moto settop box.

Did you ever get this figured out

It's been a long while since I logged in but always come here for advice. (Usually find it without having to post).

Here's the skinny of my simple set-up ...

PS3 to Yamaha RX-V1800 via 4ft HDMI

Cable STB to V1800 via 4ft HDMI

V1800 to Samsung PN51F4500 via 6ft HDMI

I bought the "High Speed" 28AWG HDMI Cables with Ferrit Cones from Monoprice for this simple run ...

My problem? I get no picture from my receiver or even sound via the HDMI connection. So is my issue with the HDMI cables not being 24AWG?

Thanks in advance,

James

Sorry, all of the HDMI cables were of the same make/model from monoprice (two 4ft cables and one 6ft cable) and all are 28AWG.
