My Gear. Please give feedback.

Hello All!

I'm new to these forums, and here's a list of my current gear. I'm not sure how good or bad this stuff is. Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Pictures to come at a later time.

Sony Bravia KDL52XBR2
Denon AVR-2802
Anthem MCA30 (For Fronts and Center)
Totem Accoustic Hawk (Fronts)
Totem Accoustic Rainmaker Center
PSB Image 4T (Surrounds)
SVS PB-Ultra13
PS3 (BD and Web-Browsing)
XBOX360 (HD-DVD)
Pioneer DVD V500 (Music and VCDs)

I think the first thing I'm going to need is a new AVR that supports HDMI.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy the system's music performance. I think movie sound is a bit lacking in fullness - the sound is on the 'thin' side (not including the subwoofer).

All players are connected via optical. 360 and PS3 are connected to the TV via HDMI.

Oh, one thing I'm beginning to notice is that the center is a close, but not perfect, match for the fronts. The floorstanders seem to have a bit more depth and umph.

Hehe. It's not the cost that's the factor. It's not having a dedicated room with full control over the lighting conditions.

same here, thats why i just watch pj at night, which is when i would go to a movie theater. w all due respect to op, many peeps say a pj/screen wont fit their room or lifestyle; the truth is- you have to make it fit. rearrange furniture, plants, art works, get rid of something, if necessary. you have to want it and in the end, when done right, its really WORTH IT.

+1

It can be allot like going on vacation...everyday! I like trying to learn as much as I can. Big screens are a definite benefit too.

If I can fit an 87" screen with a projector in a dorm room, you can fit one in your living room

Although I don't have a WAF to worry about....and the girls like it...

I recently auditioned the Totem Hawks and loved their sound. So much so that I am thinking about getting a pair. I wondered though how well they integrate with your center channel, & sub for HT applications? When I heard them I thought they were pretty full range for music listening, and did not think they would benefit greatly from adding a sub for 2 channel listening, that is part of what I liked about them. How do you like the Hawks?
