Sony KDL40V2500 Fast Input Switching?

Currently to switch input I have to hit the "menu" button, then navigate to "External Input" and then navigate to my desired input.

Is there a way to switch to a desired input faster?

I wish you could program a few buttons to switch immediately. My old cheapo Sharp tube TV had a better remote than this!

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm open to buying a universal remote if it resolves my problem.

All you have to do is press the 'TV/VIDEO' button at the upper left. It cycles through the inputs one per press. You can "skip" available inputs by going to MENU, SETUP,VIDEO LABELS, PROGRAM, and toggle down/up to 'SKIP', press select, press return to exit.
You can go directly to tuner input by pressing CHAN+/-

The thing is I have a lot of things connected to my TV and hitting the TV/Video button repeatedly take a long time due to the lag in switching. So I was hoping there would be something like hit input type and a number and it would switch to that....

Most likely does not exist.
