Any tall people using theater seating?

Hey tall people...has anyone purchased theater seats that were really effective for tall people? Specifically for neck/head support and possibly better leg support when reclined?

I am 6'-5" min. tall. depends on shoes and posture

I'm not that tall, just 6, 2, but the ones I got are a little small for me; I would hate to have to find ones for someone taller

OK, I'll bite; which ones did you get?

I am 6'3", and the coasters are quite large enough for me...

I got the power buy---Director chairs

You could shop around and check out the full length of the chairs when they are fully reclined. Some of the models might be slightly longer than the others.

I'm 6'3" and I have the Berkline 090s. Perfect for me.

I'm 6'2 and the Berkline 45003 are great for me. They do make larger chairs specifically for taller people. The model #s elude me atm, but you can pm rsh on the forums here or goto www.rtheaters.com he is the person I bought my chairs from.

I got the Coaster Studio and I am 6'4" and my friends are also tall and nobody has ever said anything. I think they are great.

Lots of reviews, good stuff but members remember this is a very personal thing when it comes to each members definition of what is deemed "comfortable" and what is proper "head support". Berkline as well as other manufacturers manufacture taller back chairs such as the 187 and 094 to name a coupleof examples. The option of a taller back chair is available to members seeking this option.

Typical theater chair: 39-42" overall height
Taller back chair as previously mentionned (only a couple of examples): 44.5" height

I've got the Lane "Hollywood" chairs and I'm 6'-3". Works for me.

I typically like the upright or slightly reclined positions for movies (not full recline because i fall asleep). So in the two up positions, i would love to have my head/neck supported. Right now, towards the end of a movie, i sometimes shove a pillow behind my head to try and raise the back of the chair. It stinks. So i really need a high back chair (or maybe extending headrest like a car seat which seems like a good alternative and would keep the overall scale of the chairs down).

I am 6'5" and also typically watch in the slightly reclined positions along with full recline. I was particularly interested in a chair that would provide proper head and neck support in the reclined position. Many chairs I tested would have me looking at the ceiling when fully reclined, without enough head/neck support for my tall frame.

It was recommended I try the Berline 45002's. They have the tallest back that berkline offers (45") and also have a power headrest! For individuals that like to watch tv in a reclined position they are perfect (especially for tall people)! I could not go without the power headrest now , (or the buttkickers! ).

Thats pretty helpful advice. I only want to spend this cash if it REALLY solves my problem and your solution may also work for me. Where did you purchase them? I take it those are somewhat pricey? What type of layout did you do? Material? Any photos?

I'm 6'8" tall and have the Berkline 078s. These have a 41" high back. It works for me, however it may depend on whether you are long legged or long in the torso.

continental seating makes large seats, the titan series i think

VAHDman,
You are the first guy taller than me to comment so far. Can you sit partially reclined or fully reclined and have the backrest of the 078 support your head enough to see the screen? My screen is somewhat low because its a 7' basement setup. At 41" there also seems to be some other models that are a full 4-5" higher?

For the guy who is 6'4" or taller I would definitelly recommend chairs that are 44.5" tall if you are talking Berkline.

Here is the list to choose from:

091, 094, 099, 187, 194, 45002, 45012, 45014

I recently received my Palliser Cagney recliner w/power recline option and I absolutely love it. It is 43" high and is very comfortable. Oh, I am 6'3" btw.

The problem I have with the Coasters is that my legs hang off a bit, it only supports up to my calf. I am about 6'4..........other than that they are very comfortable. I just wish they supported my full leg

Lots of tall people in my family 6'5" guys 6'1' girls. They all love the Lane Hollywood chairs we have.
I'm 6'4". My father-in-law, brother-in-law, and son-in-law are all 6'3".

I have Berkline 45012s and they work for all of us. I've got long legs and shorter torso. Some of the in-laws just the opposite.

The chairs work for all of us with no problems or compromises.
