Home of the Brave - Only 768kbps DTS Using Optical

I've just purchased Home of the Brave on Blu-ray (which features a DTS-HD Master Audio track). I noticed that with my setup that uses optical audio it only gives me standard DTS at 768kbps for this particular movie. Instead of the regular 1.5mbps it usually outputs when a DTS-HD MA track is selected. Anybody know what the reason is?

have you tried other discs with dts-hd ma? if you get 1.5mbps with other discs, then the issue is with Home of the Brave itself. if you get 768kbps with other discs, then it's time to check player and receiver settings.

The DTS core is scalable from 768 kbps to 1.5 Mbps. Fox decided to go with a 768 kbps DTS core for this particular title.

Here is a useful DTS-HD white paper that explains this and many other things regarding DTS' new codecs.

No need for that. I'm well versed in the new audio codecs.

Yes, I've always got 1.5mbps DTS core from all other DTS-HD MA tracks. That's why this came as a surprise.

Yes i was quiet surpriesed to see the 768kbs bitrate over the normal 1.5mbps.

So how is the video quality?.

This movie is real??

When I saw the trailer I thought it was some sort of parody.
I might have to rent this.

Do Sam Jackson and Fiddy have scenes together? If they do, I'm definently watching this.

On my 45x108 screen using a 1080p projector I found it to look fairly soft with an elevated black giving it a rather flat look. I'm sure glad I rented this flick instead of making a blind buy.
