Help With Onkyo 605 And HD DVD Player!

I just got a 605 and finished the automatic setup, but I fell as if there is something missing in the loudness, especially with TrueHD.
Do I need to adjust the amps? And if so, to what settings?

I know that I am not doing something right, please help.

Need to turn it up. I usually have the volume on my 605 on 75 to 80 during movies. THD may need to be a little higher than that. This was a HUGE change from my Yamaha which I never had higher than 20. Once turned up, it sounds good.

I set my starting volume at 55 so I don't have to turn it up that much. You could also set the intellivolume higher, but it might introduce some noise with that adjustment.

Which player do you have?

I've been playing with my XA2 all night long because I felt the LFE was way too low via HDMI.

I've put all my speakers to large, turned the dynamic range to off, SPDIF to bitstream and HDMI auto, and everything sounds pretty good now.

A1. How did you do this? "Turned the dynamic range to off, SPDIF to bitstream and HDMI auto"?
On the reciever or the HD DVD player?

I took this advice from another thread, and the result was amazing.
