That's the aggregate score from 1up and it's users (9.3 for PS3 and 9.1 for xbox.)

They both received a 9.5 from the reviewer.

You read it wrong.. both version got the same score from 1up.com. The differences you see are from something else.
Ah I didn't see the review score, just the AVG on the top. I don't read their reviews often so I didn't realize they have 3 different scores on the same page (AVG, USER, and REVIEW).

Guys, keep this discussion PS3 related.

Where? The Editor rating is the same for both X360 and PS3
post #516 of 703
i still havent got a chance to check out the ps3 version yet, but it seems they are indeed identical. fun game so far, but only a real purchase if you think you will play the heck out of the multiplayer. single player campaign is the same old COD but shorter.......

No... you're reading the user/reader rating average...

The actual review gives both versions a 9.5.

Needs to be ps3/cod4 related, or this will get locked (like the last thread).

Just ordered the 360 collector's edition from BB online for pick up in store so I should be able to pick it up on the way home. My area also has the PS3 version listed as available in a few stores.

So who's at home right now playing? I was lucky enough to have yesterday off and got some good MP time in.. hope to see some of the additional map types with more players tonight!

Is it possible to create or join a squad, like BF2??

After staying up half the night last night playing COD 4, woke up this morning looking for a quick fix of COD 4 online, when I noticed that my PSN account had been suspended.

Nice.

Nice.

Most likely not suspended, mave. That's one of the messages you get when Sony does their network updates. I had it happen to me once, too, and flipped out. You'll be fine when you get home.

PSN is down, you're not suspended.

Does anyone know of a website/place yet that shows you what you unlock for all the different challenges online? What unlocks each weapon etc?

Great. Maybe my whole day won't suck.

Thanks.

Gamezone rating for PS3 version outscores other versions in gameplay and graphics.

Here is the PS3 link

Picked this up at lunch, can't wait to try it out tonight.

They used different reviewers for the different platforms. Guess it led to different opinions. Frankly, the PC version should destroy them all.

Psssst, I don't know about you all, but I'm just going to enjoy it and not really give a crap about what it looks like on the 360 or PC.

What a novel idea

i wouldn't say destroy, but it will be better, of course. the only noticeable difference will probably be the textures, detail and possibly anti-aliasing (depending what CoD4 on the consoles use and your PC of course). both console versions use at least 2xAA, textures, for the most part, are good as well. playing through the game, you'd probably be hard pressed to spot the differences between all 3 versions.

No kidding, right?

I'll see you on tonight, Avarice. Just picked up my copy. BTW, check your PM.

Of course those that have both platforms are trying to decide which to buy, so to some, its relevant how they score. Obviously the differences are negligible.

So can someone that has actually played this game on the PS3 tell us how it is? How does it stack up to RFOM? I am interested in buying it but I want to hear from some actual users.

Resistance was fantasy. i.e. guns were not real, you could see through walls etc. This game is more like a cross between RB6V and Resitance. It's fast paced, but still very tactical. The guns are all authentic.

The graphics are better than any game out right now for PS3 hands down. Controls are great so far. Online was 100% lag free for me over a 3 hour session last night. You can connect to games and get into lobbies VERY quickly unlike RB6V. All in all the best game I own so far.

Great to hear, no lag, no fee, I will use $50 that I saved on Live to rent bluray movies .
I just recieved my PS3, I am waiting for my hdmi and game to arrive.

Just got it home, been playing so far. Very impressed! However it defaults to 720p on my PS3 and Westy W3.

In order to get 1080p i need to disable 720p in the XMB - which i refuse to do...

Anyway, I thinks the 1080p option is 960x1080.

Either way, the game is incredible production value vise. Top notch graphics, realistic atmosphere, sound... Very rich Nex-Gen enviorment, makes you feel like you're really there.
Sweet! I will try to rent it first cause I'm new to the FPS/tactical genre, but I'm glad to hear that the graphics are top notch.

Does it look better at 1080p?

Not to spin this "Cod4 Discussion..." thread off, but if you're honestly considering a purchase, one thing to consider would be the optical disc capacity for gaming in the future. This issue keeps poking up in and around all these next-gen games... and kinda happened again today when a developer in the CoD4 forums said that disc space was an issue and they had to "scale back" on stuff.

Either way... If you're judging on THIS particular title, they play GREAT on both systems... The only notable difference is the better online friends communication features that come with Xbox Live.
