Do a search on Joann site for Drapery Linings- Not to be sexist but this is a shop for women and they do not call it BOC (Black out cloth), they call it Drapery Lining.

Get the WHITE RAIN NO STAIN 1

Is building the screen using BOC easy like this...

1. Measure & cut BOC for desired size
2. stitch top and bottom to hold PVC or some kind of lumber (stick)
3. Slide the PVC (or the stick) into the stiched part - both top & bottom
4. hang it to the wall.

How heavy was BOC (96" diag - 84" wide, 47" height).

Assuming its not heavy, would folding over bigger PVC pipe create any problem.

Can BOC be made completely like roller shade ?

I initially thought of buying roller shade (white vinyl) but not sure how good would that be for projection.

Thanks for the info. I ordered 3 yards of Budget BOC for $16.90 shipped with the coupon code. I've been debating on what screen size to get and I'm just gonna thumbtack this to the wall temporarily, then I'll have a good surface to throw onto and can experiment with screen sizes up to 110" (I know I don't want any bigger than that anyway).

WARNING! If I'm reading this webpage right, orders are for SINGLE yards of this material - as in one yard remnants.
I think you're reading it wrong. The ad means you have to buy it in 3, 6, etc., foot increments.

I wish they had at least 61" wide and not the 55". When I bought mine last time, it said 54" on the label but when I measured it, it was 55". But I still need at least 63".

I'm worried now on going towards Wilsonart DW-354-60 because of hot spotting. I actually have here a 8"x10" D354-60 and I can see a little light glare/reflection. Don't know if that contribute to hot spotting. However, white is really nice on the DW on my crt.

Which velvet did you get @ $2.99/yard??
I can't seem to find it at Joann website

I just came back from joann fabrics. They had a few types of boc but I couldnt find any rolls without a dent/wrinkle. If the boc isnt perfect can it be ironed out before using it?

Mine had some wrinkles in it and once I stretched it over the frame they went away. I dont think you can get it without a wrinkle because its folded in half when rolled. Also when/if you paint it the paint will also shrink the material a little bit making it tighter.

This is what I am using. My initial screen was 106" and my new one is 131". Both look great with my Panny AE700 with no noticable light dropoff as you move around the room (even at the most extreme angles). Plus it cleans up much easier than BOC!!

This material is 54" inches wide, right? So that makes it 54" high when I hang it on my wall. If I want a 60" high screen, how do you handle that?
You can seam these types of fabrics almost invisibly, or you can find specialty outlets that have BOC and similar fabrics in double width, nominally 110" wide.

One source I have used is: http://www.rosebrand.com/product34/B...-FR.aspx?tid=7, a 110" wide white on white blackout cloth for $15 per running yard or about $5 per square yard. The 54" wide more widely available material works out to about $4 per square yard, so the wider BOC is not much more expensive.

I think they some kind of sale on the black velvet when I bought it. This coupon code will give you 50% off one item: DECE7503. It expires the 19th.
This one expires today (the 20th):

DECER7503

Hope they put out another one, my laminate screen will be here next week.
The Budget Drapery Lining is now $2.99 (normally $5.99). Tried to use a 50% coupon as well put apparently you can't.
While browsing, I notice that their 72" felt is also half off now 2.49. Good stuff if you don't need the blackest of the black. Also good for covering the wall or ceiling.
Most colors are almost soldout however. For example there's only 3 yards of black left.
I am looking at getting 6 yard to possibly cover my 8 x 9 wall. Hopefully there's that much left at my local joann. When I brought some last week, they had multiple roll.
