for the last three yrs, ive subscribed to: 'sound and vision'- which led to me getting my 1st hd pj and 18 mos later, my panny s77 upscaler, i havent regretted those purchases for a second (s&v mag has since started covering other techs, besides ht which im not interested in, so i may not renew).
i also subscribe to 'home theater' mag which stays w/in hd genre, good reviews, etc., ill probably renew;
also 'the perfect vision' which used to stay on ht topic w good reviews/articles, has also gone off on tangents (cameras, cell phones, etc) and i may not renew;
also, 'widescreen review' which stays on ht topic and ill probably renew.
there were a few others but i didnt renew for same reasons. note to mag publishers: i read ht mags for ht content. if i want to read about cameras, cell phones, etc, ill subscribe to mags. about cell phones, cameras, etc.
as other posters have already said, u find out about stuff on on-line forums much sooner than printed media. mags days may be #'red.
edit: these mags dont hold the thrill they used to since i got a new computer (id been using friends and neighbors machines) 2 mos ago. they've lost their 'WOW !' factor. ive already seen the info on-line. i guess i just like the 'tactile' feel of a physical magazine in my hands. on my shelf are the lastest s&v and perfect vision. ive had them for 4 days and have yet to open them.
