Yeah, I'll have to sweep. The place doesn't look dusty at all... until you get down close to take a pic! My wife's reporting in Afghanistan (8 weeks)... she comes back on Friday, so I have to do some major cleaning this week!

That's always the case! I was taking pics of my toy poodles the other day and spotted a dust bunny that was almost as big as they are! LOL!

BTW, sorry for the threadjack...

So what's in the PC (which btw is at the lower right in the above Picture)...

HTPC Parts:
Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H Motherboard (great thread from the [H]ard and more from AVS Forums
AMD X2 4600+ (Overclocked to 2.65GHz) cooled with a Mini-Ninja
Radeon HD2600XT (using the HDMI output for Video and 5.1 Sound)
2 GIgs of DDR2 memory
20X SATA DVD Writable Drive
2 Seagate 500Gig Drives (Movie Storage)
1 Seagate 350Gig Drive (Vista 32bit OS)
D-Link Wireless N network card
IMON VFD IR Receiver w/remote
Silverstone Case

I'm going to assume this user no longer frequently visits this forum and ask other people. PMed anyways, not expect a reply

Is that an Imon VFD (possibly with the volume knob removed?) fitted in an LC17 Silverstone Case? If so, can anyone confirm that the Imon VFD will fit in that tiny slot or is that case modded with a bigger hole?

I love this thread--keep coming back to it for ideas, and just to see what everyone else is doing. I hardly use the computer in my den anymore--I do almost everything from my HTPC now--surfing, watching DVDs, and I just realized how cool it is to stream video on demand from NetFlix. Watched a short anime movie last night--just cause I could...

Its not the HDDVD but a x.264 looks great

Old setup. Screen res I had on the crt was 800x600 hooked up with component. I could only run MCE. The HP DEC was so hot that I had to open it up buy a next fan for it to cool it down.

Here's my humble set-up. Just got the stand today. It's the same one as the OP's.

Here are my components up close

HTPC Specs:
Antec NSK2400
AMD X2 5000+ running at 3.0ghz
Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H
2X Seagate 500 GB HDD
2 GB Corsair XM2 DDR2 6400, will add 2 more GB in the next few weeks
Windows Vista Premium w/ MediaPortal using SpinSafe Skin
Lite-On BDROM
Samsung Burner
Microsoft Wireless Desktop
Everything controlled by my Harmony 550

I'm nowusing my HD-A3 for most of my DVD playing since it does a magnificent job of upconverting. I picked it up for $75 as an open box item last week, quite a steal for a standalone. I still have an old Daewoo DVD/VCR combo for VHS viewing.

I've got an internal Ready Boost too... I had to get USB PCI card as I ran out of ports and the card has an internal input.

Ok, although I do have a full blown set up in my living room... thought there may be some interest in this smaller version in my bedroom. Of special note is I built this setup within a server chassis I obtained for $79.00. I find pricing ridiculous on the off the shelf HTPC cases when most of them are simply towers thrown on their sides with minor mods. And of course they double / triple the price. I don't recommend a newb tackling their first HTPC using a server chasis, as there was a lot of blood, sweat, and beers.. I mean tears to tackle the metal mods. But for those that don't mind the extra work, it can be quite rewarding... and you'll save a buck or two.

First pic is the original case...

Second shot is the mod'd front with the IMON Media Bay. ( luv it! ) There's a P4 3G oc'd to 3.4 in there, top right is a trayless - removable Hard drive setup I use to back up and transfer movies when my main server in the other room isn't on. I have one removable tray in each of my PC's which is great for transferring 20G + files.

Third is the overall system view. I have a little 100 Watt 5.1 setup which does justice in the confines of the bedroom.

Since I just got engaged I have to pay off the ring before I spend any more $$ on my addictive electronical fixes.. but I will probably rebuild the HTPC in the main room with a server chassis and throw a touch screen in it. Have to time it once the ring's paid off and before the actual marriage! LOL

Keep the systems coming.. hopefully in my dream house I'll have a complete room full of pics to throw up for my home theater!
