What the hell????? I get to BB Magnolia after being told it was in that it ISN'T IN The guy said he doesn't know why the woman told me that earlier over the phone. I swear BB employees are MORONS.

The guy says he doesn't know when its coming in though a truck is coming in sunday and thursday so call to check in. I'm so pissed off.

My order status page says that mine has shipped as well, though I haven't received the tracking info yet. I'm excited.

YES! Mine has shipped as well. Also got a tracking number, although it has not showed up in the UPS system yet (pretty normal). And this after I called this AM and got a "not in yet, don't know when" answer. So Crutchfield CS may not be well informed but apparently Crutchfield is not a pack of morons like BB!

On to the owner's thread!

My Crutchfield order just shipped too!
Got my Crutchfield order info also!
Ditto, mine shipped as well, complete with a tracking number. I suddenly wish I paid for expedited shipping...

Meh, what's another week when you've waited this long.

Yay, got my tracking number now!

I just called 1Call. They have no idea when they are getting their first shipment.
I ordered in August, but they wouldn't tell me how many were on order and
where I was in the cue. I won't be ordering from them again on a new product.

I just found one in Manhattan Beach, California, Best Buy Store 1011, just south of LAX. I paid for it already using a flurry of faxes with the store.

I will go pick it up after I drop my wife (my smokin' hot 24 year old wife - 11 years my junor, raised on laserdisc, makes movies, thinks pan and scan should be outlawed, and loves our home theater) at LAX for a trip. I am always sad to take her to the airport, cause she's so awesome, but today, I am just a little bit less sad since I will shortly thereafter get to enjoy the purple. I will post up everything I can on the owners thread right away; however, I can only play for awhile because I'm going to I Am Legend on the Imax at midnight.

Yay Purple!
The heck with purple. Does she have a sister?
Nope - only child. She's laughing right now. Sorry.

Yet another visit to Madison Wisconsin's West Side Best Buy - Jake checked the system for me. It now shows that product is expected to hit this location's DC (Distribution Center) on the 22nd.

...I will continue to live vicariously through the lucky ones, who have or are soon to receive theirs.

Well here you go! After all these replies about the Sammy being shipped, I had to give it one try. I called the Macedonia (Ohio) BB and the guy who answered the phone didn't know what I was talking about. I gave him the sku and what do you know. They had one in stock! I think I got their floor unit. He held it for me and I used the 10% off coupon. I was not able to get the free 4 dvd's though. He said one or the other.

For all you interested in NE Ohio. He said there was one more unit at the Chapel Hill store. There was none to be had at the Mayfield or Parma store. I'd give a call to Chapel Hill and give them the sku and see if they have it available.

We'll give you a report after it's set up.

Hmmmm...I wonder if the MX900 has a set of remote codes in the database yet

i've got the MX-850 and I'm assuming the best we can do for a while is use the codes for bd-p1400 or even 1200. At least this is all I've seen over at remotecentral...

Any luck with the setup??

Location? I am curious to see where the product starts popping up and how quickly it will get to other locations!

Chesterfield Valley. It was the only one in the area.

Nothing at all. You don't even get the 5 free in the mail since it has both HD-DVD and Blu. Neither camp really supports it.

Looking at the owners thread there is no mention of free movies from BB. The only hope is that Samsung offers a mail in rebate.

Everyone - got the scoop from BestBuy about the delay when I picked mine up today.

I mentioned about how there has been so much confusion about the release date, and the manager said that they don't release officially until January, but for a few select stores, they are getting one or two to gauge the sales pull. Based on how those few units sell, that will allow the Best Buy purchasers to figure out how many to order when the offical launch takes place.

So, this is a "soft launch"

Now it all makes sense. My guess is that the Best Buy purchasers were skitish after the poor sell through of the LG units at those high prices and lack of features (like analog outs, etc.)

My local BestBuy Magnolia told me today they show two players inbound to their store. They are going to pull one aside for me when they come in.

BB in Houston has no idea when they might even see one. They check for me everday but don't find anything inbound. They do tell me to check back tommorrow as they are getting trucks several days a week right now.

Greetings!
That line appears on my receipt as well. The item number description reads:

00051DISCS

So I am thinking a DTS demo DVD?

Also, note the next line down:

000BLURAY3 Samsung Holiday Blu-Ray Offer

Three free BluRay movies?

Congrats on everyone who orderd from Crutch, and were lucky enough to stumble on a salesman @ BB who sold the demo unit!
Even with my free next day shipping (a concession from my supplier since he could not discount the unit) from Crutch, I still won't see mine untill Monday, but before Christmas as I said two weeks ago...

After seeing here that people are getting theirs from BB, I decided to call both stores in my area and the answer was "it's on backorder and we can't even order it"...

So much for getting as little as some hope...
