I know I've heated some people up over the PCM vs. Bitstream debate but I think I figured out why my setup sounded off. As I mentioned before, most people figured out it was their receiver not accepting the PCM signal properly and causing issues with HD-Audio. I use Straight on my receiver for everything from Blu-Rays to Games to DIrectv but I always had Compressed Music Enhancer enabled, forgot it was on. It works well for MP3 Music but totally degrades the sound quality of Lossless tracks including regular DD on Directv. I never noticed or thought that was the issue but since turning it off it sounds better, mainly on the dialogue end. I was noticing a lot of swooshing sounds with male voices and an overall underwhelming effect with movies and games due to the Compressed Music Enhancer being left on, not anymore. PS3 on PCM is definitely the way to go but there is something still not right about it, minus the difference in output, compared to receiver decoding it. Thanks for the help.
