Vanguard Cinema has announced it plans on releasing its first HD DVD in January.

Channels, which will street Jan. 22 at $29.95, follows a Hollywood movie producer who has a recurring dream that could become reality. His late-night channel surfing one day becomes more than recreation when a character from a soap opera magically appears in his room.

The film stars Ed Asner, Jim Oja and Nat Christian.

Looks like that Microsoft program for getting independent movies to HD DVD may be working.

I keep pushing the guys over at MariposaHD to use this or the Amazon program to get it published on HD DVD. Wish they'd go for it..

I've been wondering when we were going to start seeing those films from CreateSpace. It's about time.

Previous news announcements claimed that 1,000 independent films would be released on Amazon for HD DVD before the end of the year. I havent heard anything recently as far as when we could at least expect this to begin

Bumping this old thread. I rented this from Netflix.

MPEG2 and two channel audio?

Stop-resume works. If my HD DVD player didn't say it was a HD DVD and the label on the disc said so, I would think I had a regular DVD.

PQ? Err... looks like upconverted DVD.

Hopefully, Vanguard will up the eye candy for their next release.
