A question concerning the Samsung HP-s4253

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I have the HP-s4253 (it's the 42' Samsung Plasma, native 720p)

Concerning the Xbox 360 (since I watch movies through that, and mostly play games on this set).

1) In the 360 dashboard, do I set it's resolution to 720p or 1080i?

2) Settings like DNIe, and DNS -- should they be on or off.

3) What does game mode on do? It seems it just automatically changes the contrast, brightness, sharpness, color settings --which doesn't make sense since you can do that on your own. Does game mode do something interesting/unique beyond that?

4) I perfer a bit more pop to my picture (a few notches higher on contrast, brightness) -- but could you guys give me a setting that seems pretty dead-on, a unanimous common ground? Also, please specifiy really quick if the settings you gave are with DNIe and DNS on or off.

Thanks

You might check that model's thread. I believe the game mode offers faster response time for fast motion.

I have this TV, have had it for about a week.

Step one, go to setup and select white background... any red/pink hues in what should be a uniform white background? If so get samsung on the phone and schedule a tech, going to need a new display (i think ALL were affected?)

Now on to settings:

-DNIE/Digital NR always off

I'm using "dynamic" for my standard tv viewing via component with these settings (motorola dct6412):
-contrast 77
-brightness 55
-color 35
-sharpness 5
-warm1

360 over VGA @ 1366x768:
movie mode
-contrast 68
-brightness 42
-warm1

hd cable box over hdmi:
standard mode
-contrast 70
-brightness 40
-color 38
-sharpness 15
-warm1

toshiba hda2 over hdmi:
movie mode
-contrast 70
-brightness 44
-color 38
-sharpness 10
-warm1

game mode just looks like it adds a bunch of nasty brighness to me, never use it

Here is the owners thread with many settings listed and answers to your other questions. You could also post your questions there
