HD-XA2 & Harmony remote - missing Picture button

Hi folks,

I recently picked up a used XA2 on eBay and it's great! Unfortunately, the seller forgot to pack the remote with the unit. He says he will ship it to me but I have no idea how long that will take.

I figured this was no problem since I have a Harmony 880, which I wanted to set up as my primary remote for the player anwyay.

I was able to easily add the XA2, BUT, the codes for it in the Logitech database seem to be missing the Picture button, used to adjust noise reduction settings and other video options. This is a real drag. If I had the original XA2 remote, I could just learn the codes through IR but right now I can't.

Is there anyone with a Harmony remote (preferably an 880) and an HD-XA2 that wouldn't mind working with Logitech to add the Picture button via IR and get the codes to them somehow so they can update their database?

Thanks for any help you can provide,
Scott.

I just added it as a Custom Button on my 720, of course I had to learn it first. I guess you could give access to your Harmony account and let someone learn it into your account, or just wait for your XA2 remote.

Scott, you can pm me your account info if you'd like for me to add the code in for you. I added the picture button as a custom button for my remote. This option makes a huge difference for dvd upconversion.

and make sure to keep it on Page 1 of the Watch a DVD Activity.

When I added the XA2 I had the Picture control without doing anything else. Is it possible that two profiles exist for the XA2?

I would agree with this, unfortunately, mine was alphabetical so it's either Page 3 or 4, can't remember which.

Interesting... Well, I what I did was:
clicked the Add a Device button, then I had to pick a category from a dropdown list, and the closest match was DVD Player. Then I had to pick a manufacturer from a dropdown, and I picked Toshiba. Then there was a textbox to enter the model and I put in "HD-XA2" (minus the quotes of course) and it added it. It has 4 pages of buttons, but none of those is the picture button, unfortunately. It didn't give me an option to pick from among multiple profiles or anything like that. Maybe I should try it again tonight without the dash and see if that results in something different or not.

If I PM my login to someone will they set up the "picture" button for the XA2. I do not have the original remote so I cannot self learn it. Thanks in advance.

I would offer to do it for you but I still haven't received my original remote (it's probably held up in the customs backlog as we speak). I will PM you the name of the kind person who added the button to my profile and hopefully if you ask nicely they will help you too.

Cheers,
Scott.

Yah I noticed that it was on like page 3 or 4 of the Devices pages on my 880. I don't really use it all that much and I find I'm pretty happy with the default setup, and my biggest beef with the controller is that its time between button presses is far too long and it makes everything feel slow by default, and changing the times is a real pain in the neck.
