Eyes wide Shut moving tiger

I just got Eyes Wide Shut on blu-ray disc, Stanley Kubricks last film. I think it it's an interesting film about sex and morality with a great sound track.

I was staring at the plush tiger on the prostitutes bed, in the next shot tom sits down on the bed with her, and mysteriously the tiger has moved, how did this happen!?

The Power of Blu-Ray.

Welcome to the wonderful world of motion pictures. There are things like this in almost every film made just because of the filming process. Or sometimes due to how it was edited.

Glad it's not a disc defect.

The extra 20GB on the disc made the stuffed tiger self-aware.

You were more interested in the tiger than that babe????

That was probably Kubrick's 1000th take of that scene and even the tiger was getting restless.

Warner should recall and replace the discs. I want to see the movie exactly like Kubrick intended. How dare they remove the tiger. The changes the entire meaning of the move. Uuuuugh!!

I believe that a lot of things happened between the first take and when it continued that involved the moving tiger, and at some point in the future, we might the super secret cut that will include these amazing yet never seen footage.

Until that day, I can only imagine why they had to cut this incredible footage that could have made the entire movie comprehensible to all of us.

This could never happen with HD-DVD!

(Golden Oldie) If you play the disc backwards, the tiger mouths the words, "I bury Paul."

The onset person in charge of Continuity wasn't paying attention during that shot.

Oh Crap!!!

Framing errors!!!!

Absolutely unacceptable!!!

We could compare this to the SD DVD to see if it occurs, but oh wait... the tiger probably isn't even in the 4:3 frame!

Here is a great website that points out errors and mistakes like that in other movies:

Movie Mistakes

It just looks like maybe that had to reshoot part of that scene, and they forgot to replace the tiger back! Not sure why!

Things like that ALWAYS just about happen, ya just have to notice them!

Here is the page for EWS:

Eyes Wide Shut mistakes

Hmmmm, doesn't look like that tiger scene is listed!

Kubrick is also thought to have (especially in The Shining) purposefully having subtle changes made to disorient the viewer so sometimes these kinda things are meant to be.
The shining has many...

or it could just have been a longer scene where the girl picked up the tiger and set it down backwards and that bit was removed. Or they shot it over a couple of days and the tiger was placed incorrectly.

Does anyone know if they digitally removed the cameraman's reflection in the bathroom scene? The reflection was there in the theaters but gone in the first DVD release.

I have the BD, just haven't watched it yet.

Tom Cruise started jumping up and down on the bed when he forgot his lines, then the tiger fell off.

I found something that hasn't been listed on that website, although it probably isn't a mistake, per se.

Anyhow, in the scene after Tom Cruise finds out the prostitute he almost slept with was H.I.V. positive, he walks to a cafe (after being followed). Along the way he picks up a paper at a newstand.

Inside the cafe he opens up to read it, only to find out the prostitute from both parties he attended was dead from a drug overdose. If you pause and read the article there are several errors in it, with lines in the article being repeated erroniously.

Had anybody noticed that before?

I was too busy looking for the other furry orange item Nicole Kidman was sporting, and totally missed the tiger.

I missed the tiger too.

on one hand i'd say the tiger was on a pillow and when she moved the tiger fell, but i wouldn't be able to explain why its facing the other way
