Both will have 2GB of RAM. Please let me know. Thanks
Get absolutely as much processing power and RAM as you can afford!!!!! You don't say if you're doing AVCHD or any kind of HD processing -- that really eats up the processor cycles and RAM. Even if you're just doing standard def NOW, you will probably want to go HD soon. My laptop has an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200, which I got for increased speed AND CACHE. I'm not sure the T5250 has much -- The T5200, which was available when I got mine, had a smaller cache (if any -- can't remember, sorry). CACHE (and CASH!) are pretty important when sorting this stuff out. Watch out for the bus speeds, too -- faster the better...
$50 seems a small premium for a 20% increase in speed (although probably not 20% greater performance, but maybe 10...). Spending an extra $50 or even $3-500 wisely now on meaningful upgrades to your pc (graphics card, fast and BIG hard drives, processor) will bring HUGE payoffs very quickly.
These are pretty universal truths in pc purchasing, but much more valid with any kind of serious video or photo editing.
