Hi Jason -
If you are into Flight Simulator, I thought you might be interested in the Flight Simulator I "flew" a couple of weeks ago.
This is the actual one I flew. It was for a Cirrus SR22 airplane:http://frasca.com/web_pages/brochure...SR22%20bro.htm
This is a pic of the aluminum simulator rig itself that sits over and in front of the cockpit. This one pictured is for a different airframe, a Diamond DA42 twin:http://frasca.com/images/DA42.6824_Ex.md.jpg
They told me that it uses 3 Hitachi DVP's @ 1024 x 768. The images are projected on a 170 degree panoramic screen. As you can see, one DVP is aimed to the center, and the other 2 are aimed left & right. I have no idea what software they use to blend the images.
They also told me it costs $250k!
It was an absolutely real feeling, like I was flying the actual airplane.
I suggested that they start using 3 1920 x 1080p DVP's for display devices!
