I got Hoya ND2 and ND4 filters coming on Tuesday. I'm going to try these to see if I can tame the SilverStar a bit. I post some screenshots then.

Heh, if only I could convince myself of that - my wallet would be much happier.

Unfortunately I've seen a HT3000e and witnessed the difference ANSI can make. I can watch TFE on my RS1 and be suitably impressed until any bright scene (e.g. Lela's cliff jump), at which point any smile quickly fades.

Nice 2001 pics!
Ryan, those are going to look good with or without the filters but Im thinking youll like the more believable blacks and also thinking youll find that it cuts down on your screen artifacts and will make your images appear more 3D. 8)

Please post more Pana 2K screens

I guess SS aren't worthless after all, if I can pick the G90 stack out of the bunch

Must... Stop... Reading... This... Thread. or I'll never be happy with what I'll get.

this thread for me is like parading a bunch of naked models in front of prison inmates.

@overclkr:
Have you any link or other photos from the Great JVC HD1/RS1 ??

While it is great if you have tons of money to spend on this stuff. You can still enjoy a fairly nice home theater for less than the cost one flat screen TV. After my roller coaster ride with my 710 I found a local dealer with a Domino 30H with low hours. Couple that with a 106" DIY DW screen and you have a theater for about $1500. With a little tweaking, who am I kidding I mean hours of my life I will never get back, you can have a theater everyone can enjoy with stuff like this:

Every once and awhile when I just sit back and watch a movie instead of calibrating my display device, I can momentarily jump off the upgrade escalator. Who am I kidding. Anyone know where I can get a G90? I'll explain it to the wife later.

Cliffy,

Were those LOTR shots an HD recording? I know TNT HD ran them twice now over the past couple of months.

Here's the only photo I have posted. I'll take another one if my 50mm lens is wide enough. (My 28mm broke.)

G90 stack = WOW! Those SS look so real and 3D. The other PJ that gets close to it has to be Art's HT5000. Impressive.

20K+ forum.

Sim2 HT3000E could probably give you a 12ft wide screen too, which you could discuss here.. =D

I'm sure they are from .TS files. Clarence has a bunch of screenshots taken directly from the source that we used for the above shots.

Thank you.

The thread title should be changed to "Cliff's G90 stack screenshots" since there are 45 trillion of them. Sheesh.

hehe, looks great.

yeah man why can't you go back to the CRT screen shots thread though (for real)? It's good to spread the word on CRT, but those coming to this forum looking at this thread probably think it's all digital PJs hovering around 3K!!! You're making some of us feel terrible, LOL!

Yea by the same reasoning he really shouldn't post these shot on CRT forum either cause only a few have G90 let alone stack! Make me as a CRTer feel terrible! Kidding ofcourse. I love to see nice SS no matter where it comes from. But that is me.
Those pics look better than if I played the movie directly on my p.c with a hi res 15" crt monitor. How can that be?.

I like seeing the screen shots too, but think of this way - if he posted those dual G90 stack in the under 3K forum all over the place, you think everyone would be all happy go lucky about it? lol.

I don't know, there's another place for it. There is a "Screenshot wars" thread in the CRT forum, that's what it's for!

It's like me going to a kia forum (do those even exist) and posting pictures of new BMW and Infiniti cars that are coming out...why?

I'm sure the OP is a nice guy and wouldn't agree with me, but remember he didn't want to pollute theirs...:
"I was over in the CRT area and love the screenshot thread, "Screenshot Wars", that was started. I didn't want to "pollute" their thread so I came over here to this area only to search and not find one."

Ok ok, I'll stop now. Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers. Just having fun is all.
